Need Help Finding Engine Internals...
hey, so, hopefully yall have read all my mods, it's all hahn racecraft bolt ons, but ok, now with 400 WHP i have been looking for either a shop to rebuild my engine, or companies that make parts for me to gather up to make this build possible. i'm looking for everything except for the crank. i can find tons of stuff for the LSJ, but not the LNF. i need it all, so if yall could be so kind, if ya got any info on any bits and pieces i'm lookin for, let me know. i want my engine rebuilt so i can just have it done, and out of the way, & to be able to run it smoothly at 500 WHP. that's all i need, i don't ever plan on goin past 500 WHP for any reason.

coated side skirt pistons are sweet (JE pistons are my fav!!) unfortunately must find a piston with a spray bowl for the di injectors or you will loose power. as stated custom rods will be required. last i would do would be port flow the cylinder head. someone will eventually have cams available but otherwise you will require a custom regrind which can be very costly.
not to sink your boat but even with all of this you will not pass much more than 410 whp since injector duty can not exceed 6ms or you are spraying into exhaust cycle which is a no no

For the money you invest into the cobalt that will probably break down at 500 WHP even with the internals why not just get a project car that is meant for this ?

too many limitations in the car ( tranny Clutch internals ) Wayste of time dude..
Now if you had that LNF in a RWD application like the solstice . go for it ..
With the Swedish meatball tranny in this bitch and 2500 for a clutch that will fry under that load 500 whp is a stupid idea

since when does hahn have a 20g swap for the ss/tc..... I am also at 400+ right now but don't plan on going over 450. I would say the internals are fine for now. and as for fuel I perfer meth....
I believe my Brother talked with this guy a few weeks ago and he was supposedly going up to Hahns shop and getting all this stuff installed, not sure if that is what he did.

2nd. like BowTieTillIdie was saying about the trans I agree with him but when I had my balt I was looking into getting my transmission cyro'd. Theres a thing called Cyro Engineering, and well yeah I found a website that does engines, trans, suspension pieces but I haven't looked for it lately since I don't have a balt anymore...
However, If you plan on getting a rebuilt motor you should just go all out at the same time and Cryo the transmission so you don't have to worry about it.
for thos that don't know what Cryo is, its a process that will super freeze your parts and make them alot stronger. look it up.
I'm gonna keep an eye on this, I'm looking at getting an LNF but noticed theres not much aftermarket support as the LSJ... so i'm just waiting before I make a move.

ok guys, i love yall like fat kids love cake, but hey, yall are tellin me everything i already thought about at least a million times. i know what can go wrong, and why. i know that i "might" need new injectors, and some tranny mounts, and this, and that. that's why i'm on here, looking for help to find stuff. i have already found a bunch of good stuff. trust me, i know what to do to get this power under good control and not break stuff. ight?
and lol, whoever said with a rebuilt engine and everything else that 500 whp is too much for FWD ?? come on, don't be so negative. there are ways to deal with the power. and yes, daily driver/showcar. i'm not anywhere near done with my ride. and i don't beat the bag out of it all the time, no need to.

The stock rotating assembly will likely survive your HP goals.
Im hangin' a gt4094R on our Solstice right now. I bet it will survive the 600whp I'm looking for with nothing but a valvespring change.
The crank is forged steel.
The rods are forged steel with capscrews and 22mm pins
The pistons are cast, but thick and have a hollow oil cavity to control crown temps. The most important aspect of maintaining strength in aluminum alloys.
I have been spinnin' up to 7400 for 20K now.
I have a friend/customer that runs 7900. He tears the motor down every year to inspect and it's virtually wear free. His block is sleeved, but the rotating assembly is stock.

hey badbaltguy, do u have a dyno graph proving your 400 HP? Also on the Hahn site, it doesn't talk about any of his turbo upgrades being available, you got one of the first S20G's???

S20g kit is available, and I'll be doing testing on the GT3076 setup on these cars.
Though I would like to see a dyno, I already know about your car since I talk to Bill a bit about these things.
As for the other guy claiming 400whp, that has no dyno to back up and is running a pretty small turbo. Just because people break 400whp on 22psi (bigger turbo's) doesn't mean yours is. Not being a dick, just going from What people have been telling me.
As for the transmissions, my car's been well over 400whp on a stock trans for almost 2 years now with no issues. Axles in the LNF's are probably stronger than our DSS stage 2 axles, and **** my friend has an over 800whp SRT-4, thing is scary as ****, but it's driveable.... sorta lol. I was going to push my car up around the 550whp range for ***** and giggles, but I just got a built RX-7 so cobalt is staying @475whp and just being used for fun on the highway.
Ah that's only on stock turbo's man. With the cam timing changes you can make power with a better compressor well past that limit.

paul, it says every year, the cobalt just hasn't been around that long. I guess i jumped the gun, but i have a feeling he wasn't referring to the Cobalt SS motor when he said that, and the 6300 RPM post was stupid is what i meant kinda sorta, in a poor way lol.
