I didn't buy the canister. I only bought the purge solinoid. As well as the vent valve that goes into the canister. I also had to but the new design pigtail to plug into the exsiting harness and into the new vent valve. From what I have read and been told. The canisters very raerly go bad and need replacement. Although it can happen they told me if you fill up with gas alot and once the pump nozzle clicks off. If you try to squeez ethat extra dollar or two into the tank. Thats when the canisters mess up. I have never done that. So I didnt buy the canister itself.

Hmm, I bought the purge valve for the intake mani and the small canister thing for by the gas tank. The canister came with a new pig tail (that should be fun splicing under the damn car)

The purge valve for the intake mani looks weird. There no hole to bolt it to the intake manifold on the new purge valve. I hope I didn't get the wrong part.
Also on the new purge valve, the stem that sticks into the manifold is about an inch and a half long. The original purge valve, that sticks into the intake manifold is only about a half inch long.

It kinda sounds like you might have the wrong purge solenoid. And I did replace the cylinder looking type sensor under the car. I thought you meant you replaced the entire charcoal canister. Its about the size of a small lunch box.. lol... but has the vent valve in it near the top. That's what I replaced also. And the purge on the intake Mani. It only took me 20 mins to do both. And I was taking time to drink my beer. Lol.. but there is no wire splicing to do. The new pigtail u have should plug into your existing wire harness on one end and then into your new sensor on the other end. Mine did any how. Itmade life a lot easier then splicing wires.

The circle thing (canister) for the gas tank is about the size of a roll of quarters, it cam with a pig tail that I have to cut and splice in order to get it to work

The purge valve I have is very similar to the factory one. But there's no hole to bolt it to the intake mani.

Do you have a part number for the part you replaced?

Well I just called crate engine Depot, I talk to one of them guys and I got the purge valve for a 2.2 liter / 2.4 liter. The vent selenoid I have is correct, but it comes with a splice kit.

The vent valve I have is about the size of a roll of quarters also. And the ad alter it came with had pigtails on both ends. No spilicing at all. I would check with your local dealer. Hey will have one. And it was the cheapest of the three parts. Well with the money so I didn't have to splice wires.

I found the correct purge valve. Ill have it on monday. The vent valve for the gas tank is correct but I have to cut and splice the wires! God damn this is driving me nuts. Now I gotta wait until monday and then try and track down the plug and play pig tail.

When I talked to someone at CED, he said he didn't know anything about the plug and play pig tail. I know how to correctly splice wires. So I can use the vent valve but its just the whole cutting and splicing that I don't like lol

I think I found the problem. I pulled the vent selenoid out and shoot it and there some parts moving around in it.

Shook it*

That's how mine was too. Mine sounded like there were loose parts inside of it. Like a bag of marbles when I shook it. And the new one was solid as a rock. No noise. Car's been great ever sense I changed the two parts.

No problem man ! And I gotta get on replacing my intercooler some day soon also. Or knowing my luck I will find my leak fix it ( If it isn't a cracked intercooler to begin with ) and then one of the stock plactic end tanks will blow apart on m. Which intercooler did you end of getting ? When I do get one. I want to get one that performs the same as the stock unit but is better for performance. If that makes any sense !

Thebhardest part is getting the charhe pipes off the intercooler. I cussed and sweared until I couldn't and then they came off

Small flat blade screw driver and some care breaks the seal of the rubber hoses on the IC. Try getting off thick silicone couplers which are 5 times as stuck on there LOL.

I picked up a custom hot side pipe from a friend but it don't fit well. It rests on a coil pack and I wasn't diggin that.

Yes. Fitment was perfect, seriously. It fit like a glove. No difference really but its not really a performance mod, its just something to replace the crappy plastic stock one.

I think it looks good.

Slight revival.

I'm a little confused with LTFT. I was using torque today and it was staying at +3.1%. I even went WOT and it stayed the same and didn't budge at all the whole time I was driving. Is +3 ok or is there something wrong with this app because it didn't fluctuate at all.

Positive means lean negative means rich.
