New option for meth?

Not sure if anyone has ever tried this or not but here is my idea and what I'm going to try on my LNF. Only byt made a throttle body spacer and 1) you can't buy them now and 2) from what I've seen nobody really liked them anyway. And with a maf relocate in the lower pipe, there's nowhere to put a nozzle in the pipe either. So this was the best option for me. Thoughts?

Port injection is good, the concern is you will want a smaller flow rate in order to make up for the lack of mixing distance/evaporation resonance time

That and the lack of firing order control leaves concerns for puddling behind the valves when the intake ports are closed.

What is your IAT2s? If less than 140F you are going to puddle. The nozzle will atomize, but the droplets will accumulate as John mentioned

They're small nozzles (2gph) so I don't think puddling will be an issue especially since the valves will be opening and closing fast enough to not give much time for it to accumulate. And hopefully it'll be ok with evaporation also

Way less than 140. If I was seeing iat2s that high I'd be worried about more problems

With that flowrate you should be good!

Not sure you would have a lot of puddle issues considering things will be moving at over 3000 rpms lol.

Depends on flowrate, as flowrate increases so does droplet size

That was my thoughts lol but yeah I'm not running a ton of meth. Just enough for the boost in timing

True, but low iat's and such a short distance makes a combo for poor atomization when there's a valve in the way, especially with too large of a nozzle. It was just a possible concern. No one is shooting his idea down here. Although it's not really a "new" idea so to speak.

I know it's definitely not a new idea completely, just never seen anyone do it on an LNF with a stock manifold. Honestly I'm only doing it because of what I said about lack of options for mounting it in the lower pipe and nobody making a spacer. So this is more or less a trial and error to see how it works

Probably installing this sometime over the weekend along with a few other parts and once I get my meth controller in (hopefully tomorrow) and get my tune, I'll post some results about how it runs

See the brass plugs. Ryan Salazar ran that for a while.

I thought about doing something like that but then decided if I was doing multiple nozzles anyway that I'd do 4 to ensure equal distribution to all cylinders. How well did that set up work for him?

No idea. I never ran meth when I had this intake, that's why the brass plugs. He's on here though. You could PM him and ask.

I spelled his name wrong, it's Salazan, not Salazar.

I sent him a message, thanks Sox-Fan. And hawk, that's why I'm doing meth because I don't have access to E where I live. I'd love to be able to run both

My shop suggested doing this too. Haven't had the cash to do it, won't for a while. Interested though.

Honestly other than the meth parts it's not an expensive thing to do. I bought another manifold just so I wouldn't have any down time but I drilled and tapped everything myself

hmm i have the 4 nozzles already, this is what i was going to do as well. I ended up getting a BYT spacer and its been running fine, but this seems like a more viable solution.

I had to get a bung welded on for another fitting for my boost source (didn't want to tee into any lines) so hopefully that'll be back to me tonight and I can get it all installed to test it out
