November 5th I begin Modding

Where do you guys suggest I start. I only have $300-$350 to spend this check so I'm limited on what to do.

I thought about tunes for the longest time and I decided to go Trifecta if I tune, but is it a good starting point?

Please vote on a good starting point for me.

Thanks

charge piping, do a tune last so you don't have to re-tune. I would suggest a downpipe instead though.

Nov 5th is a bad day for America. Its the anniversary day of the shooting at FT Hood that killed and wounded a lot of great Americans.

If your looking for budget power. Get a cat-less downpipe and a trifecta tune in that order. Don't bother with an intake or charge piping. Real power comes from the tune the downpipe will make the biggest difference. The stock air box flows plenty of air for the power levels of the tune.

Cat-less downpipe $150
Trifecta tune $300-400

If you need more after that then you will need more money to make any significant power.

The problem is I only have $350 until spring. So I can't do 2 items unless its $350 or lower

So you think I should go downpipe then tune. Can I go catted downpipe instead. Also can I put on the dp and wait to tune in spring. Will I see any gains.

If not then I should just tune it and retune in the spring

you will only see 1-2hp from a downpipe without tuning.

But yes, downpipe first.. The stock downpipe is the most restrictive part of the intake/exhaust

If you can afford it, DP + Tune. If money doesn't allow it, tune first. Tune is the biggest gain in HP you will find. You can always get the cable back and update your tune with TF later.

do you have to pay a tune fee again to get it retuned when you add new parts? Cuz that just seems like a waste of money to keep retuning if you do.

But buying a DP and putting it on a car that will learn down the power gain isn't a waste?

no I agree it's more useful to tune for it I'm just think it makes more sense to have all the bolt on's you want before tuning, then tune for it all at once.

What if I tune first for instant gratification then buy all my parts, store them until I'm ready then get the cable and retune for I think Vince said $60 + $200 deposit + shipping,

Sound smart?

minor retunes are free, just have to pay for the major ones. Shoot me a PM if you're interested in going through a dealer and not directly to Trifecta. I can save you some cash.

Exactly!

Tune first then get it tweaked for free every time you add something. You won't notice any gains until you do the tune, so it's a waste of money to do anything else first.
