Oil catch can

Hey all!

I was wondering if any ebay catch can can do the job, or there are quality grades.

I know that mpx is good, but its expensive and I don't see the real gain to go with that option..

Ya I've seen that... It just seems that all it is is a piece of aluminum with hoses.. I don't know why I'd pay so much more for it .. some people have actually home made some..

I googled them to see what they look like. They look like utter pieces of crap. There's no baffling inside them. You'd have a more useful catch can by making one out of a coke bottle and stainless steel pot scrubbers.

I just ordered the MPX can. I figure it's worth it because it's good quality...*turnkey* mounting..and nice drain valve on bottom. What's an extra $75 if you're gonna have this for years to come?
I'm just hoping I can get that back line off! I'm pretty sure I can do it. Someone here suggested using several plastic tie wrap end to release the locking tabs. I tried only one as a *test* and it started to loosen the fitting!

I bought one from ebay for $20 and it works just fine. You have to be out of your mind to pay $100 for a can with fittings on it... unless it comes with a pony.

quality over quantity... i bought one just to see what it was like, the thing is horrible quality, so i bought one from jdr speed which is a local business here, its a cnc billet can with a baffle, sure its a lot more (120 total) my rate, but the quality is excellent and its a nice piece. If your interested i can get you pics, and if you want one ship one to you.

MPX has stainless steel mesh (not steel wool) in there to allow for condensation of oil.

its probley about a 3 1/2 inch by 1.5 diameter, this was within a week after install too so there must of been a bunch in the VC, theres not as much collecting now but it still collects

The VC should not accumulate oil.
Where do you have the lines hooked up? Should be the two ports on the back line going from VC to turbo inlet.

certain things I won't buy on eBay, like turbo kits, intercoolers, big stuff.. But for a catch can that's literally just a can, its not bad, gets the job done and is a quarter ofnthe price.. Just like downpipes.. People run eBay downpipes that are cheaper but it works fine, same concept.. Piping is piping really.. Just my opinion, to each its own, I'll be ordering one here in a few
