oil in intake
most of you know my cars CEL came on durning the CED meet for a MAF/MAP sensor. when i replaced it the intake manifold is coated in oil. any suggestions on where its comeing from so far does not look like im in need of a catch can. cars 100% stock other than the trifecta tune im so badly wanting to uninstall on the car. any help tips would be very helpfull. dont want to take to dealer if its a simple fix.
also cars running sluggish and pops alot when shifting, normal low to no boost shifts

yea it is normal, its the fact that it runs like crap even tho i had an induction clean done. im realy thinking cat is clogged like my base was when it had a popping exhaust when shifting
a clogged cat on a Turbo/supercharged car will usually boost higher than it should..... have you seen anything like that?

Map sensors, there are 2 for boost, one in the intake mani and one in the lower, cold, charge pipe. And that one gets nasty oily and then does stuff like what you say is happening.

Any turbo car..especially with added boost, is going to spit out oil into the intake. My catch can is on it's way as I type. GET ONE!

Id say take it in but I took mine to 2 dealerships whenever I had surging issues and they told me no code no fix (I eventually figured it out and fixed it myself about 20k later). I told them my turbo was gonna go and they told me well if it goes then that's what your warranty is for....so it took complete failure for them to do something. Gotta love it
Good luck

Ummm sounds a lot like what I just experienced and my car is at the dealer right now getting a new turbo....bearings locked up in it. When I took my intercooler off a half a quart of oil poured out of it. When the bearings go oil goes by into the charge piping to the intercooler to the intake manifold.

Do you have any way of knowing your afr or fuel trims? If you are running rich Id get it in asap. This is my theory on what was going on with my car: the turbo bearings were going, the tune commanded certain fueling based on boost, the turbo was not in fact pushing the boost that it should have been making because of the bad bearings. this was causing the car to run rich. the extra fuel is being burned only when you let off and shift, causing the pops. this is all a theory but makes sense to me.
good luck bro

Its worth looking into. Mine was misfiring during shifts, lack of power, would smoke SOMETIMES out of the tailpipe under boost right after a shift for a little bit but then stopped that symptom altogether.

far as smoke.....we will get little puffs of black smoke but i was getting blue puffs after a shift right when i got back on the throttle....but only for a short while and then the blue smoke completely stopped.

are you getting **** fuel mileage or smell fuel in an overly rich situation. i was getting like 20mpg and in some instances could smell fuel. it would pop during shifts...which if rich is when the extra fuel was able to be burnt....
