have to run both unless you have a tune i believe. also if you want to keep the lights off get your maf moved to after the bov. the no recirculation part is causing your limp dick mode. when recirulating all the air read by the maf is entering the engine, but with vta bov some of the air read does not make it to the motor which cause a major rich condition and thus ur light. if the maf is after the vta then even know the air is venting away from the engine whatever is read by maf is after that action so all air read by the maf enters the motor and fuel air is correctly calculated.

also their is a major thread on the setup i dont remember the link though.

i had this setup but the hks bov and it worked out fine. No check engine lights or anything. I even had it like this before and after I got tuned so it's not a tune that is needed, you must just have a boost tube in the wrong spot. Also yes it does run rich for I believe it is .01 seconds. This has been dyno proven and noted and will not cause any problems. And I know some people are going to chime in and say "you can't release metered air through a atmospheric BOV" and whatever else they are going to say but the fact of the matter is is that it has been ran by many people including myself and have had ZERO problems. I have ran 10,000 miles on my car with a VTA BOV and no problems. And if you need more testimony then talk to Boostking, he also has talked about this situation.

I run a synapse synchronics recirculated on a stock tune without a block off plate I hooked the stock bypass to boost only with a inline checkvalve and I have not thrown 1 code these have been on for 2 months.
