Ok, possible GB

Ok guys, don't know how many of you are on the other LNF site, but for those that don't know, I have setup a GREAT chance of getting a GB on cams. So after a couple of weeks worth of talking to these guys, here are some of the details I have worked out with them and am gauging interest right now. There is a 99.9% chance this is going to go through, but I need interest first. So here are the terms:

Cams are going to be performance cams. (Some say that using performance cams will cause a CEL and max out your flow of the heads, ect, but I will squash this now. These cams have already been tested with no CEL's.) Cams have been proven to gain 20-40hp. They will still be VVT style, not straight cut. Now for the pricing.

If I can get 5-6 people the cams will be $350/set shipped. For 8-10 people $320/set shipped. And YES, that is for BOTH cams. I asked that MANY times, and got the same answer every time.

Shipping is done by Priority Air and is usually to your house in 5-7 buisness days.

One catch! They won't start the sets for everyone until all is paid (obviously), and the cores are turned in. (still working on that part about possibly being able to keep your stock cams.) It usually takes 5 business days to make the set.

I have more information for when everything is finalized, but right now I'm still gauging interest. So how many of you would be interested? I really don't think that $350 for a set of custom ground performance cams is that expensive! I know I'm doing it regardless.

I will see about getting some dyno numbers and or vid. From what I remember is that they just tested them and then took them back out for the stock ones (just for testing purposes from what I gathered out of it.) I'll do some more talking.

Instead of you talking for them, how about they come on here and talk?

Sounds good!! I just figured having the Company itself on here talking about their product, it might result in more people interested.

True, but I figured since I'm the one that even got them interested in it that I would allow myself the priviledge of bringing it up to you guys. Like I said, I'll talk to my contact and tell them you guys request his presence.

Of course if they aren't willing to come on here themselves, the company is Colt Cams. They are really good, as I have used them before. If you have questions and would like to talk to them directly (if they won't get on here), you can go to their site, e-mail or call them and ask for Geoff. I just talked to him like an hour or so ago. If you talk to him, tell him Levi sent ya and he will know what you're talking about.

I use to run colt cams in an N/A 240sx, I would buy from them again. I'd be interested, but would like hear some first hand experience if possible. Any idea what tuning method was used on the test car?

So getting higher lift and duration on the cams.... how does that effect AFRs? and will a custom tune be required to use these cams or will they work just fine on the stock tune? Are these regrinded stock cams? Thats why there that cheap if it is. It would be better if they were totally new forged cams instead of grinding down the existing lobes, although that would reduce rotational mass with in the engine, but how balanced would they be?

I dont see how a stock tune will work with this. (yeah yeah, Im not talking about the learn down thing...)
I mean I dont see how the AFRs would not be greatly affected, I mean if they werent then whats the point of getting cams? more air/fuel right? then againt this might get rid of the richness in some of the tunes out there

The OP mentions core requirements, so I think it's safe to say these are regrinds of the stockers.

That is how they are offering them for that price. No core it would probably be $800 easy for the blanks and grinding them.

If they're regrinds then no wonder they're so cheap, i just hope they didn't take off too much material and they're properly hardened.

Well in order for ANYONE to sell a product here on the forum, they must become a supporting vendor. This company MUST come on here and become a vendor for this to actually work. Might want to let them know OP.

IBL?

I have the specs here for you guys. As for the dyno sheet, I'm still trying to get one, as well as talk him into getting on here as a supporting vendor. As for the specs, they are as followed:

Primary intake - 268 grind 418 lift
Secondary intake - 262 grind 417 lift
Exhaust - 262 grind 415 lift

That's the specs he gave me. He does the Tri-flow technology (which if you've ever had colt cams before, you know it works VERY well, I've got a Colt Cam in my cavy at home). Like I said, I will be getting a set regardless, and I can let you guys know how it goes from there if you'd like.
