Which one to go with???

Okay i understand there are a whole bunch of threads on intakes and what not but I want everyones opinions. I have 1500 to spend but the car is also only 3 days old and I dont want to mess it up in any way. I know everyones talking about how intakes do all this different fuel trims to the car but which one would honestly affect the car the least. I cant manage to get a CEL because my parents would kill me (im only 17).

I also have read a lot about tunes and how much of a gain you get from them, I was looking on the Hahn website and they have a tuner for a 1000. I know nothing about this car and how any of this stuff works so if any of you could help me out it would be nice.

Thanks

i have the hahn intake i got it the day after i bought the car, put it, sounds better, great blowoff sound, no CEL's, i would recommend it, and ya shouldnt mess with a tuner unless u know exactly what ur doing, plus that voids the warranty if ur worried about that happening

Tune has been found to be the best bang for the buck, even without other mods.

you will get better performance with a different tune other than a canned tune (hahn) however with a canned tune you get flash back to stock whenever for warranty work which is nice.

Also there are rumours of a gm Stage tune kit coming out which will keep warranty but i've heard only about 295 whtq with it and some other tunes get get close to 330whtq on a completely stock balt.

Yeah I understand I would get a better tune and more but I just dont trust anyone where I live and a handheld program just seems way much easier. Im not looking to get the most out of my car im just trying to get a good sound with some power to back it up.

With tunes such as trifecta or other large names it wouldn't be some guy around you tuning. the files are sent to the buisness trifecta tuning so the owner of this tuning buisness does all of the actual tuning you just need someone with the cords and a interenet connection to hook you up

Get the hahn cool ram intake. I would get the hahn tuner because you can upload new tunes if needed unlike the other ones you cant.

Personally, drop in k&n and the stock intake is what I'd run...Trust me, I dyno'd my car before and after with the stock box and Injen intake and LOST almost 20wtq across the RPM band and about 5-10whp up until 3-4k RPM.

I just put on a injen CAI last night.. delivery only took a couple days from Turbo Tech Racing, Install was painfully easy. I read a few reports of people having odd issues with this system, but I'm perfectly happy with mine. I unplugged the battery before install, and let it idle for 5 min afterward, then took it for a spin. Power delivery is smooth, spool is quick, and OMG it sounds so awesome. No issues with driveability at all. Also, it looks beautiful under the hood.

I'm not yet tuned though so we'll see how it drives after that.

From what I've been reading, I completely agree with you. There seems to be no benefit to the aftermarket intakes. I think kids are installing them just for sound. I'm older, so I like the quieter power, anyway.

For intakes, that's probably your best bet. CIA reported no fuel issues at all on their CAI. Their SRI had some issues on the stock tune.

I wouldn't go with the Hahn tuner, that's your call though. HPTuners in my books.

It is usually best to get your parts from the same vendor for tuning issues.
