i will be installing my badmab catless downpipe today and was wondering if it would hurt anything to run open turbo? just curious?

My cut out is in the middle of the DP and your right its pretty loud

mine is 3" straight through no cats resonator or muffler and gets nice n loud on WOT

 

i dont plan on leaving it off just may want to ride to the store or something to see some peoples faces.

 

Think of this, all that hot exhaust is now just staying there. I did open turbo for about 30 seconds because i was curious how loud and what itd sound like. Open downpipe sounds the same as it.

I always open that **** up going through the mall or store parking lots and if anyone asks WTF is under the hood i tell them i have one of those EBAY exhaust turbo whistlers

He's asking about open down pipe not open turbo. It'll sound like ass and the performance won't be as good but it's not going to damage anything.

 

running open h-pipe on a 02 mustang GT makes it sound sexy.

when i get a downpipe you can be sure i'll take a ride with just open downpipe.

 

It sounds good to you in the car because the exhaust ends under the car. Thats the only reason it sounds better to the driver, but outside it could be confused for a john deere. Ive done it on a few vehicles.

 

I think this sounds good outside the car I was babying it cause it wasn't running very good and i later found out it was a boost leak. You can see the headlights come down in 2nd trying to pedal it to keep traction haha.
