Ok good info I knew that. The air sensor that is built in to the piping I want to know who supplies you with them. Do you guys make them or did you buy them from GM?

SynapseTurbo 07-29-2008 05:31 PM

We used the stock sensor. We cnc'd a flange that mates to the stock sensor so its a simple bolt on operation.

Well, I have been having trouble with mine popping out of the bracket but it isn't broken yet. I am going to go to the dealer today and see what they tell me.

same thing with me exact same actually i brought it to the dealer and they said the part was back ordered he said it was under r&d and will be fixed in mid august with a better design

so wat does this mean for the 09's? Will they have addressed this problem already or should I be making arrangements for custom charge piping?

z24sport 08-07-2008 11:36 PM

I think I'll wait and see how GM attempts to fix this problem...

SlowShifter 09-04-2008 05:26 PM

bump for anymore cases

sheldon729 09-04-2008 05:55 PM

if you r going to charge 600 for the piping then there better be some dyno'd provin power gains and im not talkin 5 hp cause for $600 there better be some decent gains or that kit isnt worth that for the small amount of piping there not the complicated of routing either....It is an nice looking kit and im sure its great quality but personally im not going to spend $600 on it ill wait till some compition comes out

an0malous 09-04-2008 06:03 PM

not sure, i just found it kinda funny that people think GM will "fix" this.

to tune with out having it logged, as to not to void warranty.

lets put it this way...........if the stock charge piping sucks and i gotta replace it I'm gunna want a tune to go with it and take advantage of the power it has, may as well get a custom intake at the same time as the custom charge piping........beyond that, unless GM releases upgraded charge piping that doesn't suck and fall off and it comes with an intake and tune...........it just seems pointless to wait for GM if right off the bat i gotta get custom charge piping or suffer loss of use of my car while the Dealership fixes it..........till the next week when it falls off again..........nobody really quite understand how bad Calgary, Alberta roads are............I can only think of one place worse, lol, Edmonton

So you're basing this off of one, maybe two reports about a problem with the charge piping...

PimpLay2 09-05-2008 12:40 AM

im definately not paying 600 got piping... without tuning it will not do shit... and plus there is no dyno on how much hp the piping will give

Clearly the charge piping adds some ponies past 4500 RPMs and pushes the peak HP out another 300 RPMs or so. Good buy IMO.

:twothumbs

iT happens, I had my Evo on the track and it did the same thing....... Its an easy fix.... Never had this problem with and of my Subaru's(WRX, STI, Spec b) since it has a top mount intercooler.

SynapseTurbo 09-05-2008 10:11 AM

We just started a group-buy on our charge piping kit, so if you guys want to replace the ugly factory stuff, heres your chance!

PimpLay2 09-07-2008 11:42 AM

im in the group buy... i checked my piping yesterday and it was loose as hell and the price went from 600 to 400 if we have 10 buyers so thats a GOOD ASS DEAL

if you have a SS/TC i say get in the group but NOW because its only a matter of time of your hideous piping to rattle or come unstable or even unclamp itself off the intercooler

brett3tiger 09-07-2008 02:22 PM

I already had my piping come loose, the dealer fixed it under warranty and cleared the codes that came up on the ecu, but it happened like a month after I bought it, F that.

PimpLay2 09-07-2008 02:37 PM

yea dude GM ftl on charge piping... i seen my shit was loose at 5k miles.... but i didnt check before that so who knows it could have been loose at 1k miles

brett3tiger 09-07-2008 02:44 PM

I don't know I had like maybe 1000 on it, and then my Engine Power reduced pops up one night, they fixed it the next morning, but still, I almost Crapped myself.

08blackbolt 09-07-2008 05:29 PM

thats probly wuts wrong with mine i was wondering wut it could be. from one day to another it made a differnent noise wen i step on it, i could hear the turbo whine up louder but doesnt go as fast as it did. no pull or nothin. imma have to take mine to the dealer tomoorow
