P0343 Help

p0343 Camshaft Position Sensor Bank 1 Intake circuit continuity or high

I believe this is causing the issue of my car to not to start at random times( been having the issue for the past month ) , can not figure out this code at all.
Replaced both actuators ( INT & EXH ) twice, checked the connections and wires and all seems good.
I searched the site for this code and cannot find much info at all. Its the only code I have besides p0420 which has been on since I got the car.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

What year is your car? I assume with you saying actuators its a vvt ecotec and you've been replacing the 2 solenoids on top of the engine that go bad frequently. that code is actually for the camshaft position sensor, not the cam solenoids. Heres a procedure to test the circuit make sure its not a broke wire somewhere, assuming this is a vvt engine.

sorry for lack of details.

Car is 2008 Lnf
Yes I changed both of the solenoids on the passenger side of the valve cover because the code said Bank 1 INT. I was thinking that it could be the actual camshaft sensor as well because I had similar symptoms on my lsj with the crank shaft sensor going bad. Is this test you provided for ACDelco 213-1690 part #, which is under the HPFP and is hard to get at? Thanks for the help

No problem, ya that code is for the intake camshaft position sensor. The part you changed is the variable valve timing solenoid. Yes the intake cam position sensor is behind your hpfp. Ive never changed one so i dont know if theres a way to short cut getting to it, just going off of GM SI data. And yes that is correct part number. Camshaft position sensor can cause a no start condition, as your ecm looks at it to determine where the engine is while starting

Ok think Ill just go ahead and replace that and see what happens before trying to replace the computer. Easiest way seems to pull off the HPFP. thank you

no problem. the test i posted gives you what the wires should read so you can make sure its not a broken wire or something silly before you go through the expense of a ecm while you have it apart if you like.
