Cory,

That looks fantastic! I wouldn't mind picking one up to test fit on a Red Line for you so you can advertise it for those cars as well

Is this baffled or steel wool internals? If steel wool, is it replaceable?

oh surprised this question took so long to ask..I just remembered about that when you mentioned it. +1

Oh and on the bottom is a lever that opens up the can to drain? because that would be @#$@#$ handy as all hell. If this is a full install kit with lines and all that...Id get one.

Steel wool internals. I dont know why youd want to replace it, but you could remove either the top or bottom by removing the retaining clips then just pop off the end and you'll have access to the internals.

Yes theres a lever that operates the stainless steel ball valve.

We're going to make it as perfect of a direct fit for the Cobalt as possible. Cobalt specific bracket, silicone hosing, installation instructions, etc.

I ask because I think steel wool is a really bad idea for catch cans. It degrades too easily. Look at the bottom of a pack of steel wool. I wouldn't want to breath that in, and neither should our engines. Filter or not, little bits of it will come off.

The reason I ask if it's replaceable is because I'd put something like this in:

It's stainless, and little pieces cannot come off. I do agree that high performance forced induction motors should have catch cans, or better yet, a true recirculating air/oil separator like Lingenfelter makes for Vettes (although I think the ZR1 comes with one).

^Along with the steel wool ?, do the inlets actually come down into the canister or are they just tapped into the lid?

I dont have any photos of the innards of our catch can, but I shouldnt have said its steel wool as its not, that was just a way of describing the material.

Its a wire mesh material, and its not fine at all to where it would break apart. You can see some of the material when you open the drain valve on the bottom and you can see its a coarse material, unlike the steel wool you have in your garage.

We'll post photos of it installed later. Watch for another update from us later.

The inlets are tapped into the lid and stick down about 1/2 an inch.

Wow you guys are really pushing some new products for the SS/TC that's

This kit would obviously require modification to the stock hose from the PCV to the Intake correct, or would the kit come with a new hose? I am definitely interested in this.

will the location also be applicable to my hhr ss? I know its a little different to place things in the bay due to airbox and such.

If the inlets came down thru perforated tubes it would be a lot more effective. Or if 1 inlet was at the bottom and the Intake Manifold side was out of the top. The air needs to flow thru that wire mesh to catch the oil vapor out of the air and stick to the cool metal.

How much oil? You might have excess blow by issues.

Thanks for the love MPx. Now, just curiously, will there be like a polished or anodized option or anything? This could be a functional, and blingy show piece as well. =)

This catch can will work for any cobalt. Just bescause they are saying for the ss/tc doesnt mean it wont work on any other cobalt.

Just locate it somewhere else if needed.

I will be buying one for my 2.2L LT turbo'd
