So I have a pitter patter out the exhaust. Some people say it sounds like a knock but it definitely comes out the side exit. I was wondering if anyone else has a loud pitter patter out their side exit. No one else's side exit sounds like this. I'm running Cmiller's side exit that I bought from him.

Yeah, kinda. Trying to upload a vid but the cable company has this long ass wpa password on the router.

 

Is it a consistant sound? Like an even rhythm?

 

Yeap, goes along with the car, it comes right out the exhaust and is most noticeable down low with a load on it.

 

is it leaking at the rear cat flange? hold your hand over the outlet while it is running and see if you hear a leak.

 

^^this. I have an exhaust leak and I sometimes have that sound, and when my idle was fluctuating I would get the sound as well, but never under throttle

 

Car would idle lean and you could hear it needed more fuel.

 

I never hear it under idle or boost. Only down low. I'm pretty sure its coming right out the side exit. I have cams and am a stroker so I'm wondering if that influences the noise any.

Lol, I figured it was due to being a stroker and my cams. I just had a comment from a turbo smart guy saying it sounded like I was knocking and I told him the engine makes zero noise, thats all exhaust.

that almost sounds like 1/2 a subie mod. sounds gross.

 

my 3 inch dump does the same thing. The gurgles and **** it makes sometimes is crazy.

Normal for a car with side exit and not hitting boost.. Air is bouncing around because it doesn't have anywhere to go..

Yeah, it sounds like that except my idle isn't set that low. It def has some lope to it though on a cold start.

 

Sounds like my car when I had a pre-turbo exhaust leak. Turns out the flange blew up on me.
