Possibly trading the SS for a 335i 6spd

So, I looove my car, but there is absolutely no room in it. So, i am not into the suby or the evo really, and a g37s is too slow, but I found a 335i sedan that looks tempting, especially since i got them to agree to replace the clutch before i buy as well and show me service records.
I know 335i are quick stock but with a Jb tune and intakes, is it quicker than my car? I havent found any real truth to the matter.
I really do not wanna lose out on the power or tuneability that I have with the the Cobalt..

Thoughts will be much appreciated.

Here it is

g37 is too slow? they are about the same as the 335i stock. but the 335i has easier mods to gain power since its already turbo. jb4 double intake, exhaust. a lot quicker. ive drove both. none are very impressive stock.

Yes it can be quicker than your car once modded. Just be ready to spend way more on maintenance than you do now.

JB4 with a intake + downpipe will be faster than a stock turbo cobalt. Local guy has one and has beat some quick cars, it gives me a good run till i catch traction.

^^^ hell yeah...lol

bmw 335i sedan runs a 13.4-13.5 stock
infiniti g37s sedan runs a 13.8-13.9 stock
Jb+2 with intakes should run 12.8 - 13.1, but i hear they die off after the 1/4 mile and get killed.

This was my car vs jb4 car on a cold 40* night lol. I was pedaling 3rd but once she hooks it pulls nice. We would tie on a 40roll every time cause i had no traction and would have to gain a couple lengths back.

I posted up some power numbers with different tunes. But with bolt Ons and E I think people are seeing 400+ whp. I'll have to look for the thread. I'm in same boat but I like the smaller 135 .

Tuned 135s and 335s are no joke. They can run stronger than BMW's own M3 when they're tuned. As mentioned, the downsides are the typical general BMW downsides: Cost of ownership and cost of mods. They're a well-rounded car though.

So I found it yea 430-440 whp on E with bolt ons. I agree with stamina and why I've balked at buying one... cost of mods and repairs. Being that I used to work for Mercedes I know the cost of repairs first hand on German cars.

Get the 1 series if you do. They are faster. I guess if you want more room then that might not work so well. Haha

just realized it has the burger dual intakes, i wonder if it already has the jb tune as well?

If you need more room why are you looking at a 3 series? Unless its just to have 4 doors?

That said they look like super nice cars and probably cost a small fortune to own and maintain.

The 135i is way to small, I almost bought one but i didn't feel like i was gaining anything over the Cobalt for the money.

I'm still drooling over the Beemer ad. If I could afford one of those, I wouldn't hesitate. I couldn't care less whether it's slower or faster than a Cobalt.

^ This was exactly my case too. I was looking to maybe buy one, but the Cobalt just made more sense in the long run.

Holly jebus.. He did 0-60 in just a tick over 4 seconds! Freakin nasty.

Aaron, that beemer is no doubt DEFINITELY a sick upgrade over the balt, but like others have said, maintaining and particularly modding those cars cost a small fortune in itself. If that isn't an issue for you, then I say by all means go for it man! Otherwise you may want to think it over a bit.
