power difference between catless dp and highflow
power difference between catless dp and highflow
It seems most of the people on here are going to the CIA catless DP. What is the power difference between that and the one with the magnaflow highflow cat?
we have someone that has the stock DP and tune. randomly. her car will start running like crap. then out of nowhere. BOOM. makes a loud pop. then starts running fine again.
up to u to decide what that is. lol

I already am tuned. I think, but I'm not sure, but I told Vince at Trifecta that my next mod after the tune is a catless DP, so maybe he already put that in the tune. Not sure though. I figured I would notice alittle bit of a difference, especially since the stock DP is so restrictive.
I am completely stock right now. i am trying to control myself to wait till the spring before upgrading anything. although i did put some eibach sportlines on. but now i'm reading i should sell those and get the progress springs.. hmm.. anyone want to buy 3 week old sportlines for halfprice?

i have sportlines. i love them
progress are really soft.
I keep reading on different threads here that the eibach spring rates are fucked up and to go get the progress springs instead.. idk. one thing i do know is that since installing them my rear end doesn't slide out cornering like it used to. who knows.
That nonsense about vince's tune potentially clogging cats is crap. I run his tune and the CIA catted downpipe and have noticed no difference in the cars manners except the fact that it hauls a lot more ass. Yes his tune is richer than the typical tune, but with the correct amount of ignition timing no more unburnt fuel passes the cylinder than a leaner tune.
And about the springs: Sportlines are for nothing more than show they run a softer spring rate than stock, best bet leave it as is for now and save up for a coilover assembly, unless you just want show without the go. Just my 2 cents.

how long have u ran vinces tune???
and for the springs. Ive known hell of a difference with the sportlines compared to stock.
coilovers are great. unless u dont know how to tune them.
i dont know how u drive. but my sportlines are btr than stock. so well see how they are in a while. as well as ur tune.
so calm down dude.
Regarding the a/f ratios and clogged cats:I'd be interested to know if the HHR/Solstice guys running Stage kits are having any problems.I know the LNF is a different animal but I seem to recall LSJ kits running rich; I'd guess the LNF kit is similar in that respect however I don't see GM backing anything that would do damage(anytime soon). Regarding Trifecta tunes I guess time will tell.
I personally went with CIA's catted DP wi cutout;unfortunately it's still in the trunk awaiting a tune,etc.-I hope I don't have to leave the cutout open to save my cat, lol.

yea were not saying your gonna have a clogged cat tomorrow or a week from now or even a month from now but a year or two down the road its a potential problem. really the catless isnt much louder, a cops not gonna lay under ur car and check, and as for inspection just swap back to the stock right before you go in. plus u get a lil more performance out of it and its cheaper.
plus with tunes and a cat in the DP you can throw COT codes. Going catless is a hell of a lit easier with a tune. No temps over 1600 degrees to worry about reducing your power and NO cat, which nets greater gains!
