it's quite a loud hammering sound, I hear it as wheels the are spinning... I normally ease off the gas because it's so loud..

if you keep doing that you're gong to brake an axle. don't go wot in first, and if it starts doing that sound again IMMEDIATELY let off the gas.

search and you will find a thread where it shows how to properly launch your car. i feather the gas and clutch till it engages and i start moving, then rip on it, this will also prevent clutchslip if done correctly going into 2nd. with luck, there will be a bit of wheelspin, and no wheelhop

Hell the wheel hop is terrible. Even in my 2.2. I can feel the tires bouncing when it happens to me. PLease let off when you feel that.

The suspension setup on these cars sucks from the factory. The engine and tranny mounts are poorly designed for the power the car puts out. Also, the angles of the engine and tranny are deadly.

Well there is a fix... you can buy the rotated trans mounts from OTTP or GM.... and it eliminates wheel hop.

and yah I know what you mean, i've had a few cars i could wot all day and no get wheel hop.

you're welcome. and seriously, try not to do it, you WILL break something. i can't go more than a little over 1/2 throttle in first. doesn't hop anymore, but spins like a **** which kills acceleration.
