Pte5858 install

Ok I've been checking out my turbo and I noticed the only vacuum line is on the compresser housing. It's the first turbo besides stock that I've installed and I know the stock turbo has a vacuum that bolts to the valve cover and the pte doesn't have a spot for this so will I just put a filter on the valve cover or run it in with something else

That is not a vacuum line on the compressor housing, that will see boost and you do not want to pressurize your crankcase. You can either put a filter on the VC or tap into the intake for vacuum, I would suggest taping into the intake.

It was at the end I was wondering what to do with the line that ran from the valve cover to the stock turbo but the other guy has answered it already

So as far as the stocker was this line hereto equalize the pressures in the turbo center housing with the vc?

I though we were talking about vacuum lines? There are no vacuum lines from the VC to the center cartridge, that would be either oil or water. I'm assuming that turbos only oil cooled so the water lines can just be plugged and hook up the oil lines.

It is that nipple on the compressor side that is bolted down by one bolt.

The line that goes from the corner of the VC to the stock turbo is a vaccum source to help pull crankcase pressure out as it doesnt do a very good job on its own of relieving crankase pressure, especially under boost. You want to tap the intake as close to the mouth of the turbo as possible to attach the line from the VC to. This way, when you are in boost the suction will help pull the crankcase pressure down so it doest build up and make your pistons fight building pressure down below.

You can vent that VC to atmosphere if youd like, but I wouldnt leave it like that indefinitely.

I would also recommend finding someone who knows what they are doing and have them look your car over before you drive it. Post pictures when you can!

I have a certified mechanic who's helping with the build and he knows quite a bit from what I've gathered just from discussing the build with him. Although he hasn't dealt with a turbo before. I will be sure to take plenty of pics and the car won't be started till I take it to ccss3 for the base tune cuz I have a stock tune right now and have three bar sensors. Needless to say it's not being drivin till I get my hands on a proper base tune

A couple atvs and a Dirtbike and put a clutch in my Honda. I have a basic knowledge and like I was saying my buddy does it for a living and he'll be there helping the whole way. He just finished his trans am. Don't know what cam is in it but its a beast

The only thing I'm nervous about is honing the cylinders and I may just make him do it
