does vince locks the pcm when he is done tuning the car? cuz the other day Joe was trying to see my pcm and he couldnt connect to the pcm.... how do you triffecta/hp tunes?

 

You load the TF base TUNABLE calibration with your options like Cat warmup delete, increased boost duty cycle, & raised fuel pressure and then Write Calibration on top with your HPT changes for DAL's PE Lambda, ect. Anything we can tune now in HPT. You cannot do a Read Entire when complete, sorry. His software is locked down tight to the ECU ESN.

Note: If you have an '08 the combo tune is tricky as HPT sees the difference between your VIN & his. He uses an '09 base file and you will need to write up an '09 VIN file for your calibration or it won't let you write a cal even. Errors on OS/VIN mismatch. I had these issues and Term & I are trying to help FF_Ace sort them out right now.

 

dam yeah i have an 08.... im about to buy HPT sometime this week... the problem is that i dont want to tune unitl i feel 100% confertable...

i think i might have to hit term. up sometime next week to see if he can help me out... i live like 3 hours away from him...

 

Yep he locks the ****. (Total bullshit) I've dealt with tuning a few balts that had trifecta. So I had to wait for the guy to get the cable. And stock map..

 

He can tune via email once you get HPT, if you decide to get the combo tune I don't think Term has an EZ Flash cable (yet). The TF files have to be flashed in person, HPT we can email tunes & logs back & forth. I bought the dealer kit (cable) myself but I'm half a continent away.

Vince is rewriting the HP+TF tune OS for 2008's next week so no additional credits will need to be purchased. (Also to prevent this problem again in the future.)

Funny thing was I didn't need any more credits. I think my '08 Model Year license took care of it even on the '09 file. I figured it was tied to the ECM ESN. IDK.

It would be nice to get my own VIN back in it though.
