Raven’s SS LDK Build
Raven’s SS LDK Build
Hey guys, I’m definitely quite late to the Ecotec platform scene but I am planning on building my LDK sometime in the next 1 or 2 years.
My old LNF spun a rod bearing before I purchased the car, made more sense for me to just buy a new engine.
Currently my SS is equipped with:
Stock LDK swap from ZZP. Less than 5000 miles.
GM Stage 1 Sensors.
3” Catted ZZP Downpipe.
Custom Intake... Lol
Tuned by Chris Zelinsky
25.5 PSI on 91 Octane.
320/370 Approx.
Before any more major modifications,
I'm gonna do brakes, rotors, handling, etc. Basic but much needed Maintenance.
(Build- Pretty much all ZZP parts, if anyone has some parts they aren’t using or no longer need, please contact me I might have a use for them.)
The build:
6758 ZFR
AEM Methanol Injection Kit.
Wiseco Pistons
4340 Rods
82 Springs and Retainers
Stage 2 Cams
ARP Head Studs
Also all new bearings, gaskets, valves, etc.
Intercooler Kit
Fenderwell Intake
3” Catback
New Trans and Engine Mounts
4.05 LSD
94 Octane
My goal for 94 Octane only is about 400WHP/400WTRQ For DD during the summer.
Have a “Second” Tune for the Meth Injection.
On 94 and Meth I’m hoping for 460WHP/450WTRQ (More or less)
The reason I’m going with the 6758, it can (I assume) support the power levels I’m aiming for and still retain a fast and early spool. Which I assume would make an overall faster car, with a nice powerband- have decent low end, great mid range and great high end power.
Please leave any suggestions or opinions you might have. I’ll willing take any advice or guidance.
Please let me know if there is any parts you might have that I could use. I’m from Edmonton, Alberta. I’m willing to pay shipping and or drive to pick anything up. Shoot some offers.

So you're still on the OE transmission? Quick spool and high torque will eventually lead to it eating itself. So be prepared for that, as the stock LNF 3.82 final drive is just too long.
Yep still on the 3.82. Hahahahaha it’s suffering as is. That’s why I’m looking for a 4.05 LSD it can’t handle the power a little better.
Some people are doing F40 swaps, I'm looking to do an F23 swap. The F23 is the same weight as the F35 (F40 is 30 lbs heavier, iirc) and you can get similar or better gear ratios. F40 has almost no options for different ratios/final drive, is still fairly rare, and quite pricey. F23's are a dime a dozen, a handful of final drive options, and easy to work on. The swap isn't a clearly supported by major vendors, but it also doesn't seem to be quite as extensive.
4.05 is a little better, but certainly not a true solution. I had a 4.05 LSD in my car for the last 30k miles or so (a lot of highway though), and my last drain had a lot of metallic flake to it. And I'm on a PTE5557 that spooling around 3500-4000.
