Well Im pretty sure the powerband starts to die down after 5800 rpms correct? So if thats the case I dont think raising the revs is a good idea.

At the track I shift at 6k so I dont even take it to the stock rev limit. But thats just me

Yeah but if you go higher than the next gear will start higher RPMs which is another argument

this is a good question... id like to know too... if i was going to change the redline it'd be to 7k in first and second prolly, idt id do a 7k in third...

first gear is toooo short lol...

ahhh or maybe id leave it alone in 1st and change it to 7k in second and third...
higher redline in 1st = way more wheel spin in 2nd, didn't think about that. plus second and 3rd are were the races are won in these cars

Lots of people who love their 1/4 mile do raise the rev limit so they wont have to **** into 4th at the very back end and lose that extra time/momentum. Shifting at 6k vs shift at 7k can make the difference of an extra gear especially when most run smaller diameter drag radials (more spinning for same speed = more shifts). Just a thought if the goal was for faster ETs. As far as what the best redline limit is dont ask me im supercharged and know little to nothing on the tc's.

From what ive read ....It's better to short shift 3rd so you get into 4th before the traps .

Put your redline OVER what you're going to shift at. There's been a couple LNF's, 1 stock, who were running at the track and they shifted at redline and missed the shift. Well the rev's kept going past the limiter, over-revved, and blew their engines.

Depends what you want to do with the car. If its your DD, then I wouldn't raise it. If you track it often, I would raise at least 3rd to 7k so you can trap in 3rd still. I picked up .2 sec and about 4 mph in the 1/4 mi by raisinng the limit in 3rd.
