resleeve?

Has anyone here done this to an LNF motor?

Does anyone know what the J-tool kit number is?

Just thinking out loud...

I took this a step further and see Darton sleeves, that read as though they fit ALL 2.0L engines, but I am guessing the intended recipient is the LSJ...

I haven't cracked my original motor apart yet, but I am presuming cylinder wear in at least one of the bores necessitating replacement, or resleeving;
Which is why I initially looked into finding an LDK shortblock on this side of the 49th parallel - but having zero luck so far has me wondering if I have other options that I haven't looked into yet.

If my memory serves me correctly don't you have another Lnf car sitting with a motor you could grab?

What exactly happened with yours?

Yup, you recall correctly - good catch!
I have that other car's motor in my car right now;
When my motor went south, it was the dealthblow to the other car, I parted it out, and had it hauled away.

I am guessin that my original motor had a ringland break on piston #4.

This spare motor is not intended to be a fix forever - it's just my spare motor;
I have a bunch of parts put aside to rebuild my original motor, or to build on an LDK/LHU block.

I generally plan things and stick to a budget, which is why I didn't do upgrades when I needed to change motors.

Can anyone tell me the part number for a replacement cylinder sleeve?
(the 2.0l is a smaller bore than the 2.2 right?)

A local guy posted a picture of some giant sleeves he got on instagram, which I assume are for his LNF, but I had never heard of the brand. Even when I tried googling it nothing was coming up.

ZZP has a girdle;
IIRC they offered it for a short time by itself, but now only sell it in their own girdled block.

But the girdle is a totally different thing than the subject at hand - it reinforces the tops of the sleeves;

This is what our blocks look like on the deck face (when the head and the head gasket is not in place);

This is what one of our blocks look like on the deck face with a block girdle installed;

(Notice the extra coolant passages around the bores on the ungirdled block's deck face, versus the girdled block.)

IIRC the LDK block offers reinforcement at the bottom of the sleeves...

The first picture you posted is an ldk block.

The lnf has an open deck block, support at the top of the sleeves is what matters, not the bottom.

you are correct;
I was just trying to demonstrate the difference between a girdled, and non-girdled block;
To those who care, here, I found a picture (that is hosted by here of all places) of a legit LNF block to demonstrate how much less reinforcement it has at the tops of the cylinder sleeves;

Some one else made one aside from ZZP though; I wish I knew who.

oh?

that would be nice to know.

with the crappy rate of exchange, i am exploring all options available to me;
and i know that iam not going to be 500hp, so it's not like i need an LDK/LHU or a girdled block... but it would be nice.
