Pricing:
I will get pricing info by friday, as for the group-buy I will create another post for it by friday.. since none of the moderators have contacted me or them..

Fitment issues:

on the OEM replacement size - you need to drill two small holes under the crash bar to mount the FMIC into place to support it, the front bumper cover fits right over it and the back of the spoiler [on the bottom of bumper cover] needs to be trimmed a little bit, to have it clear the IC.

on the Large/tuner size - you need to remove the crash bar, install mounting brackets to the crash bar mounting points to mount the FMIC into place to support it, the front bumper cover fits right over it and the back of the spoiler [on the bottom of bumper cover] needs to be trimmed a little bit, to have it clear the IC.

Was there a fan in front of the ic when these tests were done?

So I read it right, that you take off the crash bar, and leave it off?

Yes, but the weather played a big part, because it was hot & humid, thats why the numbers are low.

Yes for Tuner size FMIC, but for the OEM replacement - No - its bolted from the under the crash bar.

I wasn't referring to the hp numbers being low.
I was referring to the temp difference between the in and out was only around 5 degrees with the stock ic. If you were blowing air through the front of it (what an ic needs to actually work). there should be a bigger difference.
What were you using to measure the in and out temps and where were they placed?

As far as the crash bar being removed... a lot of aftermarket ic kits for many cars need to have the bar removed. That's nothing out of the ordinary. Just up to you if you want to remove it or not.

remember the weather was bad that day, not to make excuses, but the weather plays a big role when comparing FMIC on a hot and humid day..

the OEM replacement give you a 4-5whp gain w/o CO2, and w/CO2 you gain 7-10 whp..
with the tuner size i have, i gained 12 whp in bad weather..

last nite, i gain another 8 whp from the nice weather 68 deg and humidity was 22%, plus i spanked 08 VW R32 with full of mods, on 3 rolls at 20 by 1.5 each time..
That because the new R32's are slow, or atleast the one I raced was: Cobalt SS/TC sedan vs R32

The old ones are better and respond much better to tunes and bolt-ons. Plus you can get them in a manual trans.

hi. debby downer here.

the ecm will compensate boost between the compressor side, and the throttle body to get the commanded pressure levels. this is why you do not see a pressure drop across the core.

I would never run without a crash bar, even if it gained 100 hp. Its there for a reason, and its not to protect the radiator/intercooler. Its to protect YOU. Without it, even in a slow speed wreck you are talking HUGE damage. If the insurance company sees you were running without one after a wreck, they will deny your claim. Keep this in mind.....

Yes it will. Put a MBC on there and see what the pressure drop is with that monster core.
