Have you tried to get warranty work? Or will your new clutch and flywheel take care of the problem? Sorry, I'm not very smart with clutches or trannys.

when my car had about that many miles my roll pins failed, it wouldn;t go into any gear, had to have it towed to a dealor and fixed lol.

who would of thought backing out of a parking space would break the roll pin

why did they add the feature then, if its cause of nls, they have to fix it everytime it fails. thair fault for putting it in there.

One could argue why have the gun if you aren't going to pull the trigger? Why would GM put in the NLS option if the tranny can't handle it?

That's BS. If the parts of the car that take the abuse from NLS'ing are not up to snuff, and you use a feature of your car the way it was meant to, there is no way in hell they can call that abuse. I don't know what's the deal with this board in particular, that when it comes to warranty work everyone wants to puff out their chest and blame it on the owner. I am sorry to say to you all, GM does not produce the most reliable cars in the world so when **** breaks they should fix it. If my trans cant take the "abuse," from using a feature available on a stock car straight from the factory then it shouldn't be there.

As for the Godzilla comment, when you buy the car you sign a waiver that outlines everything that voids your warranty; pretty much everything does... When I did that when I bought the SS, I did to, and nowhere did it say ANYTHING about the use of features available on the stock car!

Gm did many, many launches and NLS on the stock components. It is tested and true. learn to drive, rev-match to not put stress on the syncros, and dont bang gears...its not necessary

to be honest synchros just go sometimes we get vettes all the time couple thousand miles synchros gone and there the same as the zo6 zr1 gt 500. and i truly doubt gm would call abuse unless the housing is cracked.

haha I know clutch and flywheel won't fix my problem by I know a gm mechanic and he will put the clutch and flywheel in for free while it's apart.that 8pound flywheel should make it rev pretty fast.I won't know till it goes in if I'm gettin a new tranny or not but that would be pretty sweet

also I know it's a little off topic but does anyone know if the Hahn bov sounds decent? not any really good vids on YouTube. and I had some probs with my type s so I fiured I would go all Hahn so I had no problems

I beat the **** out of my old wrx, 5k dumps, spin all 4 into 2nd, **** subaru showed it doing donuts in commercials, does that mean i didnt abuse that poor little car? I broke 2nd gear 2x, blew a diff. Some was covered under warranty, some was not... It was all my doing

Chevrolet does not sell you a race car, with a mechanic and sponser bought parts. You bought a Cobalt with a F35 transmission thats been largely unmodified for powershifting teenagers. Sure it has a cool algorithm so that it holds boost between shifts, but that doesnt mean the synchros and helical cut gears(priority = low noise) are ANY different since the first SAAB F35 saw duty.

If you want to beat the living **** out of the car and not have trans problems, you need a dogbox. Or you need to loosen the grip on your shift knob and work on a more efficient shift motion. Stick a green tomato on where the shift knob goes, And try to drive around sportily without making juice...

This is not the car, this is you....

I would concur. Wasn't the number something like 500 consecutive drag passes? Maybe 600, I forget. Anyway....occasional performance driving (including use of the NLS feature) isn't abuse. If someone were to use NLS *every* launch and just flat beat the crap outta their car. Well now, that would be a different story......

yep they stated 500+ tests on the same vehicle.

there is a difference between driving spirited, and abuse. people need to learn that difference

Yeah I hardly EVER NLS. There's just no reason to. At a drag strip or against a car that should be a really tight race sure. Otherwise no, there's no point.

well **** people just hard ballin the **** outta me car hasnt been beat like your thinking. just cuz my sychos poped doesnt mean i have been redlining the car 24-7. ive LNS'd the car maybe 20 times at most.playing around with a bmw or random idiots in hondas on a highway. im 24 got the car for a playtoy-daily driver. i mean i get the itch in my foot every now and then. but the car has been far from beat on. just wanting to hear some opinions and let other people know my problems incase they run into them. isnt that kinda what this website is for? but does anyone know if they have any kinda better sychros for the car?
