It's sort of the other way around. Stock lnf 80 is about 3k, where as the 4.45 would put you at about 3k around 70.
holy crap thanks for the catch on that. tried typing fast while i was in class so i didnt get caught on the phone lol. with the 4.45 you lose roughly 2 gallons per tank compared to stock......

the easiest thing to do is like these guys said use an lsj transmission. we have done quite a few f40s for the fiero guys that swap in v8s. few them surpassed 500whp with a blower and are taking a beating. so i have some ideas for the f35 im going to be playing with as soon as i get my hands on a case to mess with fnirst then the gear set.

4.45 is the only way to go without going to the 6 speed. Give me a call 412 915 3183. Im sending a pile of trans parts to John Powell for building 4.45 transmissions.

track 4.45 no doubt.
fuel mileage and performance on an LNF? 4.05
I am tempted to go back to 4.05 for cruising long distance, but the 4.45 track advantage is huge.

No need to do a turbo upgrade if you're scared to break stuff. You gotta pay to play! I knew it was gonna happen eventually. I'm not one bit mad. Haha. I'm glad it broke cause know I can get something good for it. Just another excuse to spend money.

But the 4.45 trans seems to be the consensus. Getting a hold of Mongorat after I get off work to see what's up with the Powell trans getting built soon...

Why are the 4.45 gears so rare? Do they come from a discontinued application?

4.45 would be good in your case Wert, you go to the 1/4 mile a lot. BTW you got any slips with your ZFR I'd like to see them! Still will be a chunk of cash to throw. I would go that route, but I drive my car a lot and long distances. I can't do 3-4k rpm at like 80mph on freeway ahhh the drone the drone.

I need one like now. Lol. I'm gonna be bumming rides until I get a replacement one. I would love to know a price of how much it is going to cost and what all I'd need. If it is over the top, I might just stick with a lsj tranny... Pm me Powell.

Tune had a mild boost ramp. I have a ky stage 3 clutch too.

I'm contemplating either getting a lsj trans or running a 4.45 trans. I would love to make the move to the 4.45 but seeing as how I drive it everyday during the spring, summer, and partial fall. I seem to think it would be way over the top and super aggressive. Could be just me though.

Anyone else running the 4.45 in a dd vehicle and loving it or hating it?

Probably was a cause. That clutch held the power but your tranny did not lol

Most likely. The clutch allowed the trans to take the beating. I knew it was gonna happen eventually though.

Buy the 6 speed upgrade and get it cryo-treated if it already doesn't come that way. Or buy a used 5 speed in good condition and then have it cryo-treated.

KillaSS just got the 6 speed F40 upgrade and he loves it. You can message him about it if you have any questions.

I'd love to just jump on it and buy a 6 speed but the price is a bit out of the picture.

More than likely its going to be the route I go since it seems to be not much more than I can get a lsj tranny locally.

Suckers aren't cheap, that's for sure. Just throwing it out there.

If you get a used trans pay for it to be cryo treated. I don't trust anything used that's transmission related. lol
