Shift 1-2, now throwing code p0300 and sounds terrible

Hey guys, Well my friend has a 2009 cobalt ss turbocharged. Today he shifted from 1-2 kind of hard and before he knew it the car jerked and slowed down and now idling there is a clicking noise coming from the engine and when it is revved even a little bit there is a popping kind of noise. He threw two codes p0300 and p0303...which said something like misfire in multiple cylinders/misfire in cylinder 3. Anyone experience this or know what could possibly be wrong. Thanks.

You need to upload the video on photobucket or youtube or anything similar, then copy the link of the video here.

sounds like he tried a no lift shift and wasnt fast enough. lol it happens. Did he turn the car off then back on after, cause when u do a nls wrong and it misfires like that and makes that weird sound, u have to turn the car off and back on clear the code and it will be normal again. at least im my expirience thats how it was, both times.

btw the car IS warmed up and was warm before the problem happened...its an obvious problem not the car being cold....and we brought it to my friends garage and we disconnected the battery for approx. 30 minutes then reconnected it and started it up again...same problem, when you give it any gas the popping/crackling sound coming from the engine is so violent lol

Do a compression test I bet you find a cylinder down or just start pulling the motor apart maybe apply for a loan GL

Diff need to pull the head. Could be a bent valve that is stuck open that the piston is hitting also.

car only has 18k on it, he has a dealer warranty.... only performance upgrade is a downpipe which he is going to swap out for the stock downpipe...otherwise the car is completely stock, think theyll fix it?

they will fix it. make sure you disconnect both battery terminals and touch them together prior to the dealer

not a joke it will erase what happened to car prior to throwing codes. my guess is he revved the **** out of it like you said or missed a shift, this will erase all codes and do not start it again after doing what i said. remember just the the positive cable to the negative cable away from the battery. tell them you do not know what happened just started making funny noise
