The 4 nuts that hold the shifter base to the floor...take them off. Pull the rubber/metal bushings out. put the new bushing over the 4 studs. replace base. install washer if it came with them. put the nuts back on and tighten em down.

i tried to see on their site but it doesnt have an install guide link by the cobalt. if you could link me I would love it, thanks.

alrighty UPDATE:

all done. well finishing up now. if you are thinking about doing this, and have big man hands I suggest you take your time.

REAL tight spaces and real easy to drop stuff which will be gone forever ha.

good luck everyone

Thats the 4. Take off the nuts (get a small magnet incase you drop one) then lift the whole assembly a couple inches and pop out the rubber bushings with a flat head screwdriver. Place the metal bushings on the studs sticking out of the transmission tunnel place the assembly back on top toss on the washers (should be included in kit if not just buy some from your local hardware store shouldn't be more than 2 cents each) and then put the nuts back on and tighten.
