Smoked Clutch

Went to the track last weekend with 3000 miles on car

Smoked my stock clutch to the end

What brand of clutch are you guys going with?

How do you like them?

Where did you get them?

So far Clutchmasters Stage 4 6 Puck from Modern Performance is the one im going with

Anyone have a PDF or file with install instructions?

ok, i don't care what tune you have, to completely roast a clutch(even the stock one) with 3000 miles, you're in need of a serious driver mod, bud

I mean, its one thing for it to slip, but give me a break

How the hell do you smoke your stock clutch within 3k miles

That's a lot of beating or not knowing how to drive

First of all you don't know what the F&CK you are talking about

Launch car with my Slicks and the clutch roasted down the track

Ya so i don't know how to drive......

Slicks Hooked, clutch couldnt hold

Tried a few more times and the clutch was finished, i don't beat the car i was at the track running it

Once it roasted the first time i knew i was buying a new one and tried a few more times after re flashing just the GMS1 Tune i have but the clutch couldnt even hold that

Back to my original question of what you guys are running and how you like them

Stupid comments not needed.....but thanks

^ lol , seriously let us know how you roast a clutch within 3k ,

I would take it to the dealer , 3k is under the normal wear and tear.

If you have all the stock stuff just take it inreflash it and get a factory one put back in, they hold pretty good man , I am not some professional shifter but damn man you would have to ride the clutch out from a 6500 RPM launch on drag radials with super glue on them and only disengage the clutch half way to fry it and even that would take 5 minutes.

GM ran 600 passes on this car on a strip and the clutch had minimal wear. Driver mod fail ..

Get a ZZP the spec clutches are good but ZZP will help with any info you need ..

My car is tuned by BYT

Im not the first one to roast a LNF Clutch after getting tuned

I am probably one of the few to tune such a new car and then track it

If i brought that for warranty i would probably lose my powertrain warranty

Why would i want another stock one to roast again it's just a waste of my time to re install stock parts

This is the 2nd trip down with the same result, track was wet when we started

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZObj-3XW9k

Now back to my original question.........................

I already answered it for you wtf !??

ZZP or spec

ZZP runs around 500 ft lbs pretty sure you are 150 less ..

Clutch jobs aren't an easy and or inexpensive thing to replace thats why , not all have fried the clutch with good tunes , partially has to do with driving style and slicks aren't helping the matter but still most clutches hold all the power a tune can give it .

you are looking at a lot of labor to install it man 1500 bucks ..

couple hours returning the car back to stock and getting a new clutch - 0 dollars . If your car only has a few thousand on it you can get it replaced , ask the dealer if they will put in an after market , they can't void your warranty if the clutch was faulty from the factory , return it to stock try out ur options , call the service manager make sure he is not a complete douche bag first..

I am installing the clutch myself, who the hell would pay 1500 for a clutch job

Spec clutches arent as good as people think they are, people have had alot of issues

Clutchmasters still leading the way

Buy the Clutchmaster stage 4 (4 puck) from modernperformance and call it a day

4 puck is better for everyday driving and doesnt have as much pressure pushing your foot out as the 6 puck does, but still holds very good power
