smoking under braking??

What could cause a car to start smoking and burning oil while pressing the brakes only? like if im coming to a stop and i start pushing the brakes and i get under 10 mph a big puff of smoke comes out of that i think is the exhaust (burning oil). and as soon as im stopped it goes away and once i start accelerating again it doesnt smoke either. WHAT GIVES???

Note: it just had its oil changed..could they have put too much oil in? and why only when i am slowing down?

Are you sure it's oil and not brake fluid? How does the pedal feel? Does it start out firm, but keeping steady pressure on the pedal, does it eventually go to the floor?

First thing I'd do, even before posting this thread, would be to check the oil level.

E brake is down. and before posting that i should check the oil level..you should assume im bright enough to do that first and to be quite honest..the dipstick wasnt something i had seen before. now this may make me look dumb but it was just a piece of braided cable with no real level indicator on it? so i couldn't really tell. as for the brake fluid..ill have to check that..maybe a brake line is spewing fluid onto the rotors and its burnin it up. cuz the pedals do feel kinda weird but i figured it was just cuz its a new car. ill have to look into that

It's the thing with a yellow handle towards the front of the engine is the dipstick. If you don't know how to check the oil, read the owners manual.

1) Check oil level.

2) Where'd you have it changed and what brand/viscosity did they use? Did they use synthetic?

Well i bought the car with all these parts on it and it is tuned yes..im guessing HP flavor. it hits 21 psi. but i dont know if it was tuned prior to certain mods or after them all. Regardless i am going to get BYT tuned in February. would a tune fix a smoking problem tho?

Dude, take a couple minutes to read the owners manual and learn how to check the oil. If it's truly smoking through the exhaust between shifts and when you are coasting/braking (high vacuum conditions), that probably means excessive wear in the rings/cylinders. Sounds like this car has probably been abused. In plain English, that means the engine needs rebuilt.

Kinda hard to read w/ the little ridges as opposed to something that reads FULL, and gives you a line , but it is what it is.
