The first few days I had my car I had some buyers remorse as well. I did the same thing dude. I thought about all these other cars (used) I could have bought with the money. But now that I've had the car for about 8 months and absolutely love it the remorse is totally gone. These cars are amazing man. The more you get used to it and especially once you get a few mods you will totally forget about what you might have bought. Don't worry dude. Just enjoy it! Keep searching this site for info on mods. You can find pretty much anything you want to know.

Another thing that will help....go to the track and blow the doors off of one of those higher priced bimmers or audi's!

you can find so many audi s4 for reasonable money, awesome cruising car but they shoved the engine way to far forward kinda spoils the fun with understeer when driven hard, and german cars are not like they use to be when it comes to quality and the parts are omg expensive expect to pay more just becuase its an S too. i personally would take a cobalt any day over an s4 but an m3 thats a different story.

I've heard horror stories of S4's blowing the stock turbos w/o mods with somewhat low miles ie 50-70k range. I'd say you made a wise choice.

I had a coworker whose Audi was always in the shop for some nasty electrical problems. For being a brand new car it was worse than my 6 year old cavalier as far as reliability.

Remember, when someone buys a performance variation of a model, they are getting it for the thrill of driving it (duh, why else would you spend the extra $$) When looking at used performance cars, always assume they have been driven hard and not well maintained...then ask yourself again if you really want to pick up a previous owner's problem.

'tis why I bought a new SS/TC instead of used Evo/STI/G35

Audi's are just dressed up volkswagens and are expensive to fix.

Exactly...same here.

I was debating between a used GTO, Cobra, Sti, Evo or Vette but I just couldnt get comfortable with the idea of how many mods they may have had or how hard they were abused. With the SS I knew that I could have a brand new car that will only have as much abuse as I want to give it....as well as there being no unknowns about the car.

It is also important to mention that for the performance, our SS/TC's get amazing gas mileage.

They've moved the engine further back and lower for the B6 S4. The understeer has more to do with the torsion "Quattro" AWD system.

S4 > SS/T IMO

Don't be fooled by the term "Quattro" though. It's interchangeable with "4 motion" depending on the model car. The R32 and Audi TT both use the Haldex system, even though the TT sports the "Quattro" badge.

The B5 motor needed to be taken care of. This means letting the turbos warm up before getting on the gas, and letting them cool before shutdown. If the car was abused, the turbos will crap out.

I've owned 2 audi's and they did like the shop alot lol...But overall they where nice cars. The 1.8T Turbo was a nice engine, though it had MAF issues, Coil-pack issues (went to the dealer no less then 5 times for this problem), drainage issues w/ the sun-roof (always after the winter would bust the drain tube in the sunroof which meant ruined (wet and eventually salt stainted interior.

The S4 Bi-Turbo was better for me, but it did have its share of issues (2000 first year car). Not sure how the V-8's work out, but they are nice cars. Extremely nice on the inside. And yes you can purchase used car or purchase a new car, its always your choice. I was choicing between a Vette, GTO, or this car...I went with this car, but actually lately wish I would've jumped on a HHR SS/TC for the extra room. My S4 was a wagon, was extremely useful

You made the right choice.

I loath VW's. The way people modify them, the people who drive them, how they look. Awful. Serious money if you have to fix them too. I had a 1.8 A$ for a short time and I'm glad I got rid of it.

What should eat you up is why didn't you get an EVO 9 MR...

You made the right choice man! i could have gotten a TT Supra for the price of the Cobalt TC. and i had second thoughts after i bought mine too. i LOVE Supras they are so sexy, but i look at that engine and then look at mine... the TC is wayyy frekin easier to work on and aftermarket parts arent as outrageous as the Supras. lol! You will love the TC once youve smoked a few ricers with it. lol1

A supra TT for the price of cobalt? Dude, where? I sold my 94 Supra TT for $50k 6 years ago and I still regret it, granted it was producing 540hp with a conservative tune, with only 37k miles on it in perfect condition....

I've seen quite a few TT Supras for 20-25k, but most of them have over 30k miles, while some were pushing 70k. And I've seen alot of Supras with the turbos for 15-20k with tons of miles. You can get them cheap, just with alot of miles on them.

Yeah...I have seen the prices come down a lot on them....I remember when the first F&F movie came out the prices of those things went through the roof.

Only problem with those car is that you KNOW they have had the **** beat out of them...and good luck finding a stock one.

You could have also gotten a 500whp Camaro of Firebird!!!

Newsflash: New cars are expensive, used cars are much cheaper, you pay a large premium to be the first one to fart in the seats.

Yeah prices have come down ALOT with the economy the way it is. look on ebaymotors.com, you can find a nice buy it now for $19,000-25,000. of course they do have miles on them and im sure they were ragged to crap! i mean its a Supra, why would you get a TT supra if u werent going to rag on it? lol! So that was another reason i went with my SS/TC, plus i wanted to see people crap themselves when i told them it was a Turbo cobalt. alot of them didnt beleive me. lol!
