Was shopping around for a K&N SRI and came across this: K&N 69 Series Typhoon Air Intake System Chevrolet Cobalt SS L4-2.0L, 2008-2010 - Part Number: 69-4518TTK - Sparktec Motorsports - 69 Series Typhoon Air Intake Systems

Anyone have experience/problems with this website? Because they are the cheapest I've found.

Also, keep in mind the K&N is known to throw fuel trims off. I do not know why, or if it is all LNF intakes, but read up. You may need to tune in the intake you buy.


Also, welcome from an Ohian. Grew up in Cuyahoga country, graduated from Strongsville, and worked most of my working life in CLE.

 

I agree that your fuel trims will be off, but you don't need a tune. It's just suggested.

K&N has been known to be one of the best as far as fuel trims and being able to adjust fuel trims.

 

Because, IIRC, it is smaller tubing. Bigger than OEM but smaller then companies like OTTP or ZZP piping. The larger diameter skews the fuel tables more.

No, you do not NEED it, but it is definitely recommended. You will see the most benefit from tuning in the mods that change your air delivery.

 

Yeah I already have a downpipe, after I get the intake and install everything I'll hopefully be getting tuned shortly after at a local shop where my friend works.

Nice. Used to fill a lot of tanker out of the Brecksville fuel terminal. I worked for Marathon Petrol for a while. Was based out of the storage facility off of route 8 in Boston Heights.

Heh, I remember when I got the kn from amazon for 225 like 3 years ago. All vendors had them up for 350+. They deleted my post and link to amazon cause they got pissed. Gotta love amazon, they're raping the market with cost prices barely making 20$ on an item. I work at a shop and Amazon is really doing damage.

 

Even on OEM parts like rotors, pads, evap purge, they are way cheaper.

Yes exactly, they are giving the same prices I get them for with our resale license from dealer or anyone else. That's how I got my pads and rotors from too. Amazon...
