Well I have the GMS1..
Mods: Catless Downpipe from Clear Image Automotive (FTW) and a simple K&N drop in...that's it...
Evaluation: I love it. Downpipe and the GM tune go together really well in my opinion, definitely the best horsepower for the money...and it makes a pretty big difference too. My best time so far is 13.5 in the 1/4 mile in 30 degree (Faren.) weather on all season tires at 25 psi, best 60' is terrible (2.2). Totally worth keeping the warranty.

I ran as well, I got one run in that day. I have the CIA Downpipe and a simple K&N drop in as well. 09' yellow SS sedan.
I ran a 14.2 at 102mph roughly. GmS1 makes a 0.7 sec difference in 1/4 mile times by this evaluation.

Hahn Catted DownPipe is the only mod I have done since I got the install of my stage 1, and all I can say is holy **** lol, it makes a huge difference, I think you will be very happy.

Dont forget to consider there was two different drivers. Dont get me wrong, I love my GMS1, but you cant really make a statement like that. Had it been the same driver running consistant times in both cars that'd be another story...
mods are in the sig best time stock was a 14.07 at san antonio, tx dunno any info about the track
havent been back to the track since any modifications, feels like an entirely different car though

well as long as you don't mind spending the extra cash to keep your warranty I totally recommend the GMS1, my plan is to get a real tune after my warranty is up. I can't decide if I should wait just til bumper to bumper is over, or powertrain. Either way.
13.2 104 2.0 60ft with a zzp down pipe and the gmupgrade and a k&n drop in on radials. put on injen charge pipes and aem intake no further tuning and picked up some mph but the track wasnt prepped as well that day 2.17 60 foot. mph was 107 and a 13.3.
Its was plenty quick for all seasons I thought. all aftermarket parts removed cept the gm kit and the drop in and have not been back to the track.

you can mod the car till you're blue in the face. doesn't matter. a gms1 car box stock is FASTER than your modded one. you are still limited by the ecm and the calibration itself. gms1 + tune. THEN mod the car.
once you get past the torque management nannies in the ecm. your mods will show the power gains. not till then.
learn this.

very good to know. thanks!
At this point I dont know what to expect this thing to run seeing Im only going to be able to run it on street tires in hopes of keeping the rear in one piece... as long as the rear end stays together for a little while, Ill be happy
no it doesn't actually get rid of the learn down it just raises it higher then what stock setting is. theres been talk time and time again about it and no one really seems to agree but moajority will say its still there. i plan on getting the stage 1 for now leaving it stock then when i save the money im going to stack a custom tune on top of it and add things like intake and hot cold pipes and dp.

well I haven't had the time to sit down and search, but on GMTunerSource, I'm pretty sure it's in one of the Q&A's with John Heinricy, but either way, it clearly states that Learn Down is disabled. I know this is basically a can of worms being opened up, but in support of learn down being gone, could an extra 20 hp and 60 lb-ft really take off a whole second of 1/4 mile time? probably not. Idk what recklessnova's best stock time was, but I'm willing to guess that it was right around a 14.0, and then running a 13.2 with the GMS1 and bolt-ons...I guess we will just wait and find out what he runs without bolt-ons.
you are still hindered by the desired air load tables. if the calc'd airflow is above this, it nukes the torque. pure and simple. so keep bolting on crap without a tune. don't say i didn't warn you when you got dyno your new found mods and find you make less torque than a stock lsj
