i have a 09 ss/tc with just a dropin filter and were having a local dyno day tomorow and just wondering what would i see if i did dyno my car? its $40 for 3 passes and $50 with af my buddy has a 06 ss/sc with 2.8 60s intake headers and exhaust and we were joking about betting each other who would win on the dyno me or him?

 

Hmmm, I have never been to a dyno race... is't hard to qualify?

 

With just the drop in, you won't dyno past stock numbers. The SS/TC has a "learn down feature" which means that no matter how many mods you do (intake, cat-back, header, downpipe, etc.) the ECU won't allow the car to gain horsepower. The only way to get rid of this feature is to obtain a tune.

To the OP: It depends on the type of dyno used. Generally, stock SS/TC's put down anywhere from 230-245ishwhp.

For referance, I made 239 whp on a dynojet.

Won't make much of a differance. The stock muffler is a straight through design.

I think it would be safe to say he probably drives a cobalt since he is on this site. Don't take things so serious. You bud probably will beat you but he has mods. Once you get a tune you should beat him. I put down 239whp and 240wtq with just a drop in K&N on a mustang dyno.

I love the GMS1 cuz of the warranty it puts out great power too my last dyno was my numbers in my sig on a mustang dyno. Down the road I will get an after market tune more spacific to the mods I install.

 

So my buddy in his ss/sc only got like 228hp which was weird and my buddy david with a trifecta tune dp 3" exhaust and k&n sri got 283whp and 311wtq this other guy had a 08 ss/tc with only gms1 got like 254whp and 290wtq

 

What kind of dyno was used? Judging by those numbers, probably was not a Dynojet.

Is that STD? Seems like a bit of a miser dyno to me. Here's mine. Bone stock at 1,500 miles.

To me, the other T/C's that were there seemed to be close to everyone else's that have similar mods.
