Strut bar Question!!?

So I wanna order the DC Sports Front Strut Bar. Here's the question...

I have the Hahn Charge piping in the mail as I type. Will the Pipe that comes off the manifold block or interfere with the Strut bar lol? I dunno I was looking at the pic of the bar in a 2.4 and that came to mind? Help haha

bump

no strut bar will work on the turbocharged model. all the charge piping thats currently out will interfere with it. theres honestly no need for it other then looks to be honest with you. this topic has been beaten to death in the suspension forums.

On the older unibody cavaliers I noticed a definet difference but our newers cars have much better unibodies.

I noticed it on my RSX-S and it already had one in front. I replaced it with a bigger one and then one in the rear.
It didn't help steady state corning but it did help with transition. It had really awesome turn-in.

I think the SS/TC is pretty darn good as is though. It does around 70mph through the slalom cones already.

MRZ Performance who is a vendor on this site said that they are working on a strut bar for the TC and it should be out sometime this summer. If it is anywhere close to as nice as their SC strut bar then it should be nice for some under hood shine. Really only going to be for looks though.

A strut bar does look good - if they are cheap enough Ill look into it, but it certainly wont be for performance. The strut towers are tied into the firewall, so they already have plenty of strength.

if they didnt do anything why would you need to lift the car up and take the weight off the front end to put the stb on? doesnt that mean the stock setup flexes

I can only assume that you guys are talking about the struts, not the strut towers. Last time I looked the sheet metal that the struts attach to are attached to the firewall of the car. Unless I didn't look far enough down.. Strut towers are not struts.

Perhaps they do flex, but this has been debated in the suspension forum over and over again. In my 300zx it makes a big difference, but in that car the strut towers are 3 feet forward of the firewall, and the car does flex there.

Has anyone here put one on the older ss'?

You know... I was under the impression that the towers were welded to the firewall also. Now I don't think they are and I'll show you why. (although they still could be, but I really doubt it.)

Here's what people are talking about:

BUT... take a screwdriver and poke it. It's soft... which means... it's sound deadening material. NOT a weld! I thought it was... go check it out.

I had one on my 2.2 and def did not feel a difference when it was on.

If i cant feel a difference with the LTs shitty suspension I can bet you wont with the TC.

Looks pretty tho.

Stiffening the front would add understeer. Thats why race cobalts don't have them.

Stiffening the front ANTI-SWAY bar will... not the strut tower bar. It simply gives a more rigid body structure and holds the suspension geometry better under load. But if the towers are welded to the firewall as some have said, I guess no matter how you look at it, it's not necessary.
