surge with revised aem

so i've had the revised aem intake on my car for a while now and i get a pretty large amount of surge when at super light throttle... at times it sounds like laughter. i put a forge bpv on the car and it got rid of most of the surge during shifts but i still hear it from time to time and the surging during light throttle sucks. is this considered normal? I've got the original AEM intake pipe sitting here next to me without the extra sleeve inside of it so i know the revised tube IS on the car...

also, according to my RPD my car spikes almost 280tq and slowly tapers off to 250ish to redline and never seems to break about 230hp on the gauge...

I think im gonig to try and run a stock airbox with the aem silicone and see what it does... hopefully not having the snorkle wont make too much of a difference as i lost the pin that holds it in place.
