Are you stock? Should be close stock vs stock.. Tuned you'll walk away without a doubt

You really have nothing to worry about if you know how to drive. Any mods on either car?

Stock vs stock, he will probably walk you. If you get tuned, and no mods, you'll probably walk him back.

You're 500lbs lighter, and he has roughly 50 more hp, with approx equal torque. The auto sedan does around 13.8 in the quarter, and he's rwd, so he'll have the jump from a dig.

He could be a **** driver though, and you could embarass his wannabe Skyline if you're good. What really sends them over the edge is when you beat them, and you cost half as much.
(again, with even just a decent tune, there'd be no contest)

Never driven on stock tune but GMS1 walks them from dig and worse from roll. I've raced 2-3 with minor bolt ons intake exhaust ect. I almost felt bad since I like the G35 but it wasn't close anytime.

I agree, assuming the drivers are equal.

Like they said though, a tune and he will be pulling excuses out of his butt.

dude this is useless....its a vq35 that only puts like 240 to the wheels.

when i had an ion redline with 2.9 and full boltons i would beat my friends g35 with bolts ons and a 75 shot. all he has on you is 1st gear. off the bottle he dynoed 257 and i dynoed 265 whp.

o and by the way....i drive a turbo SS now and ABSOLUTELY WALK him with just gms1 and boltons.
its not a matter of how many cars he loses by its more like wonderbread trucks.

race him and you will win. id put money on you to that if you NLS you cant lose.

this is funny I just raced a g35 with the same crap maybe even a tune with intake and exhaust I let him get a car or 2 head start as I took first slow and he smashed it 2nd gear I let him have it and I looked at him like he was sitting still as I passed him his face was priceless so no worries just drive your car and you can take him allday because I left him like a honda civic lmao grant it I am tuned with practically all bolt ons but either way with a gap that big stock with gm stage 1 tune you should take him easy and stock youll just have to be the better driver really

In my neck of the woods, most natural aspirated cars suck. So my car stock is faster than a v8 camaro ss up here.

I've seen local cobalt guys do 13.8 on stock everything and stock everything Camaro do upper 14s, low 15s.

I was following one the other day down the highway - a punk that must have conned his parents into letting him borrow the good car, and it was nothing. Every time he tried to get away, I just waited to hear the muted exhaust note kick up, and I'd surge, and be on him like white on rice. It was clear it wasn't a contest, and I'm GMS1 with a K&N CAI. Maybe he'd have something up to 40-45 from a dead standstill, but he had nothing from then on up.

I was going to shame him, and then I noticed he had quite a cute blond little chippie with him, and I felt a little generous. I could tell he was nervous, and he kept looking back, waiting for the inevitable, so that was enough for me to let him slide, and keep his self respect!

Quick note for you.. You drive a Cobalt, people will continue to talk down about your car, get used to it, and shut them up by showing them what it has to offer. Typically the people will then start to pick apart the cheap interior, econobox, etc. after this.

We have a g35 and g37 at the.lot I work and have driven both. The g35 is ok but as long as you don't mis a shift you should win.he will get a good launch but 2nd and 3rd gear in the TC should run him down. I raced a nismo 370 z in my TA auto before the cam with just bolt ons and from a roll and walked away the 1st run so the second run I just left Hume take off before I put the pedal down and walked right by him like it was nothing. The g35 is slower and has a auto as instead of the tight 6 speed the z came with so I think you should give it a try. Worse thing that can happen is he may pull you but it won't be much. I have won and lost races half the fun is seeing what happens. If you know you'll win it's not nearly as fun of a race.
I have had a few vette owners gimme **** about the cobalt and ran a blk c6 with bolt ons and a tune from a dig and roll and lost, no big deal. Although I was lucky to run into him after a meet in my TA and left him seeing nothing but taillights sure that must have pissed him off. Racing is fun win or lose you always learn something like turn off the ac before the runs.

I think you'll beat him stock. I raced my friends e46 me and we were head to head from 30 to 100. He raced the G35 and it was behind like 2 cars about maybe 1.5

Preach brotha, esp in Cali. All the ppl in LA got m3,335, c63 amg. etc. It's fun once they see your rear bumper wondering what the **** just happened.
