In tank pump electrical question

Hey guys quick question... Have the in tank pump out of the tank.. Looking at the assembly the connection to the pump and the top of the assembly has been soldered in the middle.. With the solder being exposed.. Is that okay to have exposed while in the tank? Should that be covered with electrical tape or some form of protection?

the only issue you could have is if it can touch something metal. in a perfect world you dont cut and solder things in a fuel tank, shrink tube and electrical tape wont stand up to the fuel and disintigrate. the ideal thing is to replace the whole wire from connector to connector, thats not always possible though. what i prefer to do for in tank fuel pump wiring is use heat shrink butt connectors.

What we did was he had to resolder the wires and then heat wrapped them.. So hopefully this will resolve the issue, again.. But for good this time!!
