you won't get any codes if the intake is fabbed/installed CORRECTLY, I never had any problems when I had my custom intake

the problems people are having are probably due to improper placement of the MAF

I tried to keep it simple. Okay I know its been asked 1 million times, but is there any gains from a CAI as compared to a short ram like mine? I will eventually purchase a well made one, as mine is only temporary, but everytime someone asks this, nine million different oppinions come out. I've heard that it doesent really matter because the air is just going to be heated up anyway. So does that difference in temp really make that much of a difference in perforamnce?

not too much, maybe +5 hp, if there was that big of a difference then all these companies that sell Turbo Kits wouldn't use a short ram

That "short ram" might work in a custom set up but I bet the under hood temps are around 300 degrees, give or take, wich is a lot higher than ambent. So, that set up will not work in this car
The factory set up is WAY better because of the tubing out of the engine compartment in to the fender.
