term2 tuned!

alright so u might have seen my thread about me getting a new car that was modded but i wasnt sure what all was on it. well that has been all figured out and i am now term2 tuned and happier than ever! found there is a gt2871r turbo bolted to a tubular manifold, catless dp, meth, charge pipes and intake pipes with modded air box and k&n drop in. term estimates me to i think it was around 385whp and 420wtq!

found that the tune on it was ok but there was some knock so we got rid of that, advanced the timing a bit, fixed the fuel trims and other things. on your first 60-100 run, we got 4.55 and after tuning we got it down to i believe 4.2 with an even safer tune and 0 knock at all. thanks to term2 for an awesome tune and i highly recommend him to anybody in florida! vids and pics shall come this weekend if i can remember. just got a flip hd camera for christmas!

It must have an aftermarket clutch ..... the 60 to 100 would have shown some slip for sure . What i want to know is if the dealer that sold the car to you sold it as is or with the remainder of the bumper to bumper and powertrain warranty . What happens if the thing grenades a tranny or pop's a ringland next week ? I would have them sign off on something allowing you to keep some sort of warranty on the car seeing as they sold it to you with all this stuff on it . I would atleast want to know if it has a warranty block on it or not .

When I got rid of my Ss sc, it had stage 2, full exhaust, intake, h/e, mounts and a 2.85" pulley. A few months after he got it it popped #4 and the dealership warrantied it. I understand that every dealership is different.

yea we will its just that its stock exhaust and stock intercooler. also the meth nozzle is very small and the computer is limiting boost for some reason to 24-25 psi

Your first 60-100 with the tune that was in the car was 4.85 seconds and you had 4* of knock on only 12-13* of peak timing, 12.4 A/F and 22 psi. WOT MAF tables were off 13% up top. Your last run with the final tweaks to the tune was 4.26 seconds and no knock on 14* of timing 12.75 A/F and 24 psi.

Because the BCS is disconnected an they have only the MBC hooked up, with the MBC as tight as it goes the car will not exceed 23-24 psi. I would have liked to see what it would have done at 26-28 psi but the MBC would not adjust enough to make it possible to see those boost levels.

Once you do make sure you get that BCS hooked back up ( remember I showed you it is just laying under the hood by the airbox) so the ECM can control boost again. With the trifecta underlay of 95% WG DC I can commanded as much as 30 psi. 30 psi with a larger meth nozzle and raised fuel pressure would but an even bigger grin on your face if you can keep the car pointed strait LOL.

yeah i was in regret after first buying it but after looking at the quality of the synapse kit, i feel lucky to get a pretty fast reliable car that shouldnt cause my any problems

oh and yeah when i do get the supporting mods and base file i will be sure to connect the ebc back up and come back for a retune. this car definitely has already changed about 10 peoples minds about cobalts, some of them havent even rode in it yet thanks again term!
