The only original reason to get GMS1 and then tune over it was to be able to reliably make more than 22.5psi. Trifecta's Infiniboost tweak changed the rules to where it was no longer needed.

So where does this leave us?
HPT: It will still be helpful to have the sensors. It is possible to buy the sensors and wiring and install them yourself if you already have the sensors or don't want to buy the whole kit and pay for labor.
Trifecta: It's a wash. It's nice if you have it, but not needed.

Why would you push the little turbo over that?

For some people this is a problem, but if you want a badass tune and still be able to get your car serviced, you have to pay to play. Used HPT's w/credits left sell for 3-350 and a tune via email is cheaper then $200. Costs less then what I paid to tune my own car lol!
Have any links to the used HPT setups?

I am looking to have my local dyno shop use HPTuner on my car the end of this month, is there anything I need in order for them to tune it?

Because it makes more mid range Tq and whp.

I turned mine back to 23 psi now from 26 because the top end is a lot better. 60-80 times are the same as it was on 26 psi so midrange acceleration is still the same regardless.

Be careful they might not understand how different the GDI turbo engine reacts to A/F and timing.

I myselkf now have the GMS1/Trifecta dual tune. I recently switched over from a pretty good HPT tune. the reason? It really appealed to me to be able to putput around town in the GMS1 tune knowing it wasnt being so hard on the engine. Then, when I need it, I can swith over to my stronger tune. I like the idea of my engine not being driven 24/7 in a high powered tune.

Listen to Term2. If you go to that shop make sure they really know what they are doing with the LNF as far as timing and AFR goes.

I can put put around town on my track tune... it's all in how you drive your car.

No argument here. Its all in the driving. But it depends on the tune too. My old HPT tune had some tq management going on for the track and launches which was great, but it kinda suked having to drive around in it all the time. You cant argue against the fact that being able to switch from tune to tune is a great option. For me, I just love the way the car drives stock. Then, I hit a switch and Ive got gobbs of power at my disposal.

Theres always going to be arguments for both sides. It comes down to a matter of preferance.

I run the same tq management at the track and on the street, the only time I change it is when I run the DR's on the car. Guess it's all in the HP Tune at that point.

Cool. Well thats where I had issues. I could def tell the difference between stock and the HPT TQ management and I liked the stock feel the most. Since I dont have HPT access 24/7 as you do I couldnt just load my preferred tune whenever I wanted. I have two very distinct wants in my tunes. I want stock feel/power for driving around town and a powerful tune for the track. Trifecta allows me that.

Anyways, were going a little off topic now. I guess the OP has enough info to make an informed decision based on his needs and wants.

Mine drives just like stock or better. I have very smooth DALs I run that helps.
