Thinking about GMS1...

If you are concerned with keeping your warranty valid with no flack from the dealer, then go GMS1. The GMS1 is a pretty rich ultra safe tune, hence the reason your vehicle still remains under warranty.

If you want a more aggressive tune with a lot more power, go with Trifecta or HPt. Both make substantially more power than the GMS1, yet are still relatively safe and street able.

Not that many people have issues and I bet 99% of those are install error. I love my stage 1 but it depends on what you want. Most of these people want 343234 whp and drag racing. I'd rather do suspension and light weight mods so I'm fast around a road course. So stage 1 is perfect. see if some people in your area will give you rides in their modded ss's.

if you have a tuner in the area that knows how to use HP tuners then I say go with that. trifecta is nice if you live in the middle of nowhere and/or can't find someone that tunes with HP tuners. I can tell you this, I had the 25psi trifecta infiniboost tune for over a year and just found someone that is a good tuner with HP tuners so i got retuned and my HP tune at 22psi is a lot faster than my 25psi infiniboost

GMS1 with no mods is usually around 270whp and 290-300wtq iirc.
I don't know what hp/trf would put down with no mods.

hard to say numbers really as all dynos are different as are all cars. but on average you're looking at about 280-290whp (with boltons), and about 310whp with trifecta (what I dynoed), and about 330whp with HPtuners. Now the Hp tuners numbers really depend on each tuner. But if you have a good tuner you can easily get 330-340whp. These numbers are assuming you have bolt ons btw

INB4: oh well i got blank blank blank numbers with my tune so you're wrong. This is only on average from what i've seen

I wouldn't do GMS1, there is so many issues with MAP sensor codes, flutter (compressor surge) and cars that won't boost past 5 PSI. This is due to fail installs but it isn't worth the trouble IMO. I would go Trifecta.

oh and remember if you want over what about 20psi boost on a hpt you'll want the gm stage 1 sensors installed. trifecta has a way to trick the pcm/sensors so it doesnt need it to boost that high.

Ive had GMS1 for almost a years and the only issue I had was some MAP sensor codes about 6 months after installing. I got rid of my Dejon intake and its been FINE since. I havent heard of many people with fluttering, unless they have other bolt ons....

GMS1 if you want to keep your warranty. It's great. But if you don't care about your warranty, then I recommend Terminator2 (because he is the ****!) Then BYT or Trifecta.

Either way, you can't really go wrong. GMS1 is the safest bet, but the other's just make crazy power, and are awesome!

I had stage 1 with the hahn intake, with no problems for almost a year. I had a for sale thread for my intake cuz I was having fluttering problems, but that seems to be fixed now. Prob gunna put the intake back on and see what happens, the car did feel faster with it on, and even if it is not, it sounds a hell of a lot better.

u know the diff between stock and stage 1 haha, I wouldnt void your warranty when you still have 99,000+ miles left on it.

ya but no in is saying that GMS1 is as fast as the custom tunes.

The thing is the warranty, you could pay a less money for a custom tune and go a little faster, but if you have any problem with your BRAND NEW car, you have to pay for it personally, or you can go a pretty darn fast for more money up front, but still have the fall back of the warranty.

Honestly, if your gunna go custom tune on a car with ~1,000 miles, you should of bought a used one like an 08 for much less money, and save your dough for regular repairs..

Completely false. With a trifecta tune you just get the selecta-tune to hide your tune and with the HP tuners you just flash back to stock. These methods have been proven to work. GM stage 1 is a complete waste of money

Dam so many different views and opinions...how would I get HP tuned? Id have to get the trifecta and have someone nearby tune it? And beast10007, you had a gms1, and what do u mean by hp tune? Did u have to go to a shop? How do they do it? And you have to have the trifecta right?

well I bought the gms1 and went to the dealer ship ext. I was happy with it for about a month then I went to zzp and had it tuned. they had a dyno as well. If I was you I would PM BYT because you guys are close I He is one of the best tuners out there for our cars.
HP tune is nice. also if you want to go to the dealer ship you can have the tuner turn it back to stock.

But if you have the money for gms1 I would not get it I would get the NEW TF/HP tune from byt it is less then GMS1 and your tune is hidden form the dealer ship. it is the safest tune out there and you will have the best power. so yes pm byt or call him and set up a time to get the best tune
BYT dose his tunes on the road and right next to you it takes a few hours but well worth it he could also do it on the dyno but then it starts to cost more
