Time for a new turbo
Time for a new turbo
My seal broke in my stock turbo and i need to get a new, bigger aftermarket one..anybody know who i should go with and what turbo and what all i need to get with this?help would be great on this.thanks
Contact someone like Blouch and see if they can rebuild it. You could also have them drop in a new compressor wheel while you're at it, though it would require some tuning changes.
your best option would probably be the synapse turbo manifold, a garrett gt2871r, modded charge piping and custom downpipe. and a new tune. along with a clutch if you dont want yours to die
he decided not to sell but maybe something along this route would help you....https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/parts-66/usdm08-turbo-kit-testing-waters-207951/
i would get another stock from warranty but yes i am tuned and have a few goodies under the hood,lol..they wont cover me on anything anymore,oh well
exiged you live in thornton?i just moved from westminster back here to springfield..might have seen my car around there.

Are you even sure a turbo seal is bad? SS TCs have not been out very long. How many miles do you have on the car? Unless you were trying to run the poor thing at 27 psi, it should have held up easily through the warranty period.
i took it to chevrolet and they are the ones that did all the testing and said that the seal in the turbo is broke..they said nothing is wrong with the engine, only thing is the turbo..i have a little over 24,000 miles on it and im running 25 psi

i havent been driving my car much lately cause the crazy weather in MO but i actually am living in sparta right now but in springfield quite a bit.youll know when you see me,no other balt SS around town like mine lol.
That's cool. I live on the east side of Ozark near the city pool.
As for your turbo, I'd say it all depends on what you want out of the car. Big Numbers or Streetability? A 2871 would be great for the little bit of extra power for a DD and some street races. The 3076 is a good one for more power and puts your streetability on the line of almost not being streetable (of course this depends on the tune), or the s256/35R would probably be full race turbos for our cars, as they make soo much power you'd have VERY little traction. I got the 3076 personally.
