tire question

Question about tires. What kind of tires have people had good luck with? I am tuned with a lot of other bolt ons so traction is a problem below 70mph on the stock 225 40 18s. I plan on going up to a 245 40 18 but what is a good all around street tire that wont wear out just going to the store and back? any info is appreciated!

I don't think a 245 would fit in a 40 series. A 245/35r18 might but it'll be tight

245/40/18 will fit fine.

Check out these http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....Model=Ecsta+XS

Friend used those on his GT3076r kit car and they worked better then any other set he's tried. They lasted very long for how hard he was on them.

Yea i thought about that and looked into getting a set of mickey thompson radials, but im just worried that after driving for a month the $450 i paid for two tires will be down the drain.

To the OP, do you have a build thread on your LNF swap?

I have 235/40/18 Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs --- kickass tire! They, along with the Advan Neova AD08 and Nitto NT05 will be your best bets for traction AND handling. The Dunlops are a little better in the rain than the Nittos. I have had experience with all 3 tires and the Dunlops win for me in terms of price and traction... unbelievable tire.

In order of traction:

Advans > Dunlops > Nitto

In order of price:

Advans ($238/tire) > Dunlops ($172/tire) > Nitto ($160/tire)
