i just tuned my car with trifecta 22 psi mods are only k&n typhoon and zzp catless dp and gms1 sensors recently i went to the track and my car can not get traction at wot in 2nd gear even road driving as soon as i boost more then 15 psi in 2nd it spins my tires are pretty bald im just wondering what is a good set of sticky tires?

and also does everyone spin in 2nd wot? if so are there any other ways to get grip?

Conti extreem contact summer dw. had the same issue, put these on, almost no spin in 2nd. very sticky, and longer tread life ftw

only other way to get grip besides tires is lower boost lol remember ur torque comes in at low rpm, and on fwd, thats nothing but spin. but ya try the tires i said, u will love em

Yeah. Lighter foot = no spin. Wide ass tires will help but with a boost spike its inevitable that they'll break loose.

The DW sidewalls are not as strong as the stock SC2s. I've read many reviews were turn in and handling are not on par with some other tires in category. I'm prolly going with another set of nittos on my next set.

Then you either have a nasty boost leak or have a really weak tq curve.

Ive spun in 2nd gear, but never at the track. Mostly in cold weather

Nitro invo is a great tire actually. I see a lot of modded cobras running them. I was gunna swap on a set on my fronts just to try em but only sizes we have had to pull off are the rear 285 lol

They are a good tire. Awesome in the rain and pretty good In dry climates. Also they are not loud at all. But they are really not that good for traction on a car with a lot of tq. Sure they work good on cobras and vets, but they are also running like a 275. If you want something you can that's hard to break traction get radials. Or a step down and go with some nt01s or nt05, etc. But if you just want a good all around tire I wouldn't suggest the invos because there are way too many tires out there that are even but have way longer tread life.

Didn't say they were terrible, can't read? Just saying for the price and the category they are in there are a lot better tires out there. There is an article somewhere that car and driver did that out of the 10 summer tires they tried the invos placed like 7th. Lol the nt05 placed second and you can get them cheaper.

I just got nitto nt-01's and my car takes off like an evo in 1st gear. Very sticky, but only a summer tire.

Nt01 is a radial so it is actually above the summer class. I'm getting a pair of nt01 instead of getting another pair my mt streets, trying to save some money. Hopefully they will be about the same.

here is a link that may help.

Search: Tires Size 225 / 40 / 18 - Discounttires.com has the lowest prices on tires and wheels, all

how much do the invos weigh?
the Conti DW i want, only weigh 21lbs, and most other tires weigh around 23-25lbs at that size
