Trifecta Fail!
Trifecta Fail!
Hello everyone,
before I get into the details, I was wondering if I'm the only one that had a very bad experience with Trifecta. it just sucks that a company with a good rep takes your hard earned $500 and delivers no good results. We went back and forward for over 3 months and they couldn't tune 07 Saturn sky redline

$500?
I still don't understand why people are paying so much for mail order tunes.
You could buy HPTuners for that price or find it used for cheaper.
Trifecta should only be used for people with cars that can't be tuned by any other services.
Trifecta used to be responsive, but they are not anymore. 3 months to get a tune going is ridiculous.

Well,
I have an 07 redline with forged internals, gm performance CAI, ddm works charge piping, synapse blow off valve and larger intercooler, zzp stage 2 cams with larger fuel pump lobe, stiffer springs, titanium retainers, solo catless downpipe, gt2871 turbo from ddm works, spec stage2 + clutch... I had it dyno tuned for 373whp, but that was a "mild tune" I contacted trifecta and asked for a more aggressive tune. they emailed me a tune through the portal, and sent the cable. I flashed the tune and the car never ran right, never idled right at cold starts, the fuel trims were waaay off the charts and the boost would kick in and drop randomly... They had me datalog multiple times and sent in 2 more tunes and nothing got better. Than they asked I get my vehicle checked by professional shop (I have been a tech for over 10 years, have 9 ase's and built my own engines) the car is mechanically perfect. Than they asked if I was sure that I have the 3bar map sensors (which I do, with wiring adapters from CED) than they wanted pictures of the map sensors and the engine bay to make sure (that's an insult to me) and over a period of 3 months+ I got nothing. So being that the summer is ending and the car is going back to storage, I flashed the car back to gms1 than flashed my 373whp hp tune and the car runs perfect... I always heard great things about Vince at trifecta but I don't think he is there anymore...

youve got one hell of a setup there man. i would stay away from trifecta. sucks that they now have $500 from you for a shitty job and terrible customer service. good luck though man. good friend of mine at one of those things and i cant tell you how many times we would get mustangs, camaros, all sorts of **** going from light to light. he was FBO and a tune that was 30psi so im thinking it was from trifecta because they are the only ones who will do tunes that high.
373 whp tune is from Pwerks and honestly, I don't like the way he does his business (that's a different subject) I will prolly do zzp next spring. trifecta did lock my ecm, I had to have a friend at a dealer flash my ecm back to gms1 (cost me a case of beer) than flash the hp tuner 373whp tune back so its driveable but not as fast as it has the potential
if you are getting hp tuners then you can get remote tuned then. send KMO43 a message and he may be able to remote tune you if he wants to. hes pretty damn good.
I appreciate the input but between Trifecta and Pwerks, I'm $900+ into the tune only and I'm done, gonna head over to zzp in the spring
dont blame you there one bit! it sucks because for that price you could have bought hp tuners and got tuned remotely by some reputable guys lol.
I do have hp tuners pro, and made many posts asking for someone to tune me about a year ago and got no responses... even on the hp tuner forum...
damn!! thats crazy. i feel bad for you man i really do. it sucks that you couldnt have gotten Term2, Area47, or the other guy on here to tune you from a couple years ago. So glad you have never gotten a hold of mr james rakes......... if so your car would be blown up by now hahaha

There are a few others around here that still tune.
Just noticed what turbo you're running, to get 370whp out of it is pretty damn good if you're not running an ethanol blend. If you had a 6262 and only got 370whp then I'd say thats a mild (very) tune, but that little turbo can't push much more air. If you want more power you'll need a bigger turbo, ethanol, methanol injection, or nitrous.

rwd vs fwd drvietrain loss difference is not significant (a few hp at most). Comparing dyno numbers on different dynos is worthless. I said its possible if you run an ethanol blend. If they're getting over 400 on "pump" they're either running race gas or the dyno is inflated.
