Unhappy Turbo trashed. Need suggestions on replacement purchase.

Help!

My 2009 Cobalt SS factory turbo is dying.

Would appreciate any suggestions on a high performance, after market replacement turbo.

Please include links you might have to sites offering quality turbos that you guys have had good luck with. Need a new one soon.

Thank you, Cobalt brothers!

Y wouldn't it be? It's part of the powertrain. Attached to the powertrain and tuned into the powertrain

IIRC the turbo is part of the powertrain warranty .... there was a thread on it not too long ago.

edit.... found the post ... here's what was found

What does the The Chevy 100,000-Mile Warranty include?
In general, the powertrain warranty covers the engine, transmission, transfer case and axle assemblies on light duty vehicles as indicated below:

Engine
Cylinder head, block, timing gears, timing chain, timing cover, oil pump/oil pump housing, OHC carriers, valve covers, oil pan, seals, gaskets, turbocharger, supercharger and all internal lubricated parts as well as manifolds, flywheel, water pump, harmonic balancer and engine mount. Diesel engine coverage includes the timing belts until the first scheduled maintenance interval.

Transmission/Transaxle/Transfer Case
Case, all internal lubricated parts, torque converter, transfer case, transmission/transaxle mounts, seals, and gaskets.

Drive Systems
Final drive housing, all internal lubricated parts, axle shafts and bearings, constant velocity joints, axle housing, propeller shafts, universal joints, wheel bearings, locking hubs, front differential actuator, supports, front and rear hub bearings, seals and gaskets.

Can I ask, how is your turbo dying and how did you realize this. Like what are the symptoms of a dying turbo?

well the stock turbo started to make noise 3 days ago, and its getting worse everyday now,
yesterday when i was driving, the turbo was making alot of noise when i lightly open the throttle on second gear. my only guess is the bearings crapped out. hopefully the warranty will cover it, i have only 1 mod, which is an aem intake, no tune.

First see if GM will cover it. If not, time to upgrade to a bigger turbo or get k04+ :-)

Hopefully your dealer will cover it, if not I have the stock turbo off my 2010 with 11,000 miles on it. Had to remove it to make room for my S256 lol
