Turbo turns red?

there was a sweet video of a 911 turbo on the dyno where the turbos start to glow looks sweet. under normal conditions they don't get that hot but just make sure you give it some extra time to cool if driving that hard

120000 rpm is not abnormal. Turbos run hot, this is why you shouldn't push them too far past their efficiency. They end up being hot air blowers. Now, this is not to say that a properly working turbo will not start to glow, but you need to understand what's going on.
The smaller the turbo, and the more you try to spool it up, the hotter it runs.

ok a little metal 101, when ur pushing 1800 degree exaust threw ur turbos cast turbine housing, the metal will start to glow red after a while of spirited driving. it is very normal, if u dont believe me, take a tourch, get some cast iron, and hold it there for a few seconds and see what happens. 1800 degrees is retarded hot and thats how hot our exaust gets at full boost after a few seconds.

normal..my DSm used to do this too after spirited driving.. it's why you shoudl let your car idle for a few minutes before turning it off. if you're worried invest in a turbo timer

If I may jump in and ask... what are the highest "normal" EGT's we should see? (assume tuned and stock turbo).
I'm getting a meth/water setup very soon and would like to get a bit of info on setting it up nice. The kit is here we just have to put it in. A Turbonetics progressive kit.
