turbo upgrade

hey guys, whos got the dejon 5457b turbo on their car?

few questions, whats the flow rate on it,
does it bolt directly onto stock parts?
what kinda power u seeing on say 23 psi trifecta tune with it.

peachpuff 10-22-2010 10:51 PM

Its a 400+ whp turbo, it'll bolt on with the included dejon adapters.
Here's a dyno of the dejon kit on a solstice gxp, i believe the engine had some internal work done, no clue on the boost setting.

Hate to break it to you, but someone is lying. That dyno graph is mathematically impossible. So either that dyno is software is all screwed up, or someone altered the graph.

I believe I am the only cobalt to have this kit. It has been passed down from boosting to fface and eventually to me. Let me start by saying you can hit 400 whp. Now with that in mind, the stock manifold sucks with this turbo. Actually the stock manifold should not be used with anything except the stock turbo. The stock manifold is setup for a twin scroll turbo and will not flow that well with a single scroll turbo. It simply does not flow down low. The turbo will start to spool around 2500 rpms but won't hit full spool until 5000 rpms. Once it gets to 5000 rpms tho it flat out goes. Anyway I am ordering a new log manifold from Vulcan turbo.

tomj77 10-23-2010 01:07 AM

why is it every other site i see this turbo for sale on its $400 cheaper?

slowbalt84 10-23-2010 01:10 AM

OOh also I'm on 27 psi with the trifecta/HP tuners tune. all stock internals. she can handle it.

Probably because its not the dual ball bearing one like the dejon one

It will break. Eventually.

mine lasted 2000 miles at that boost setting

Wangspeed 10-23-2010 10:53 AM

Uhh, is no one else noticing that the torque and hp curves are crossing over in the wrong place? Not possible.

Quiet right, i just noticed it, rpm seems to be off by 500 or so, weird.

Something is fishy about that graph, no doubt about it. Also, your name is censored when we quote it, lol. I guess that the new site owners don't want us to talk about ass and wang.

Hahahah. Too funny about the censoring of my name. I've noticed that the new owners of the board of some pretty absurd censor rules on. I mean, ffs, it's my last name.

Every engine will fail eventually. Gotta pay to play

On what turbo? The stock one? U shouldn't push 27 psi on the stock turbo.

M-Dub 10-23-2010 04:56 PM

Old school tech turbo....

move into the new age... better flow better spool...

And NOTHING is bolt on the stock manifold sucks for anything other than the stock turbo.... PERIOD

You shouldn't push more than 25 on the stock turbo... really 22-23 is the limit.

Could it be because its not at full spool til after 5250?

No. Not possible.

HP = Torque x RPM ÷ 5252

Which means the torque and hp curves must cross at 5252 rpm for any engine/motor.
