well i just looked and my meth tank is less than a 1/4 full so i need to get some more. i heard the walmart supertech -20 is the best and its 40% meth. is that ok to put in? im not sure if the person before me used 50/50 or 40/60. thanks for any input

 

-20F. Shake it to make sure it doesn't stay foamy. Cheaper is better. Most states require a VOC label, so make sure the label says at least 35%. If you want 50, put in 3 bottles of yellow HEET. If you don't have a real flow meter, I wouldn't run the system.

BTW - I'd have that car double checked. I saw the ad and pictures, and there's a whole slew of stuff that could cause problems if it wasn't done properly. I wouldn't even run meth on this car, but that's IMO, due to the way this ECU works.

 

well for now it has to run meth because thats what it is tuned for. would it be ok to put in the 30/70 washer fluid even tho i dont know whats in it now? terminator is going to check everything out on wednesday so until then i need to fill this thing up to get me over there

 

go to the nearest cheap garage or like a muffler shop or somthing like that and ask if they carry straight meth because i did this for a long time and i even bought a barrell full of meth once for 50 $ and it had 45 gallons lol..

 

Theres a place on 98 in lakeland called race car engineering that sells 5gallons of 100% meth for $25. Then mix it your self. Buy 5 galons of distiled water and you have 10 gallons of 50/50

 

I would be careful. You have no idea what the tune was set for. Was he running 100% meth or was he running 50%. I would take it very easy on your car, and get BYT or Term2 to scan it and figure out what's going on with it. You could blow something.

 

i see where u are coming from but what should i do? i have to drive an hour and a half to get to terminator and the tank is very low right now...

 

Put in 50/50 to start with, and drive conservatively.

 

ok i will do that. im trying to contact the owner before me to find out but i guess im going to buy a jug of -20F washer fluid then dump some HEET in it.

alright they didnt have -20F so i had to get 0F which is 22% by volume. so i took 42 oz. out of the gallon (128 oz.) to have 86 oz. of fluid or 19 oz. of pure methanol. then i add in 4 bottle or 48 oz. of HEET (pure methanol) to make an exact 50/50 ratio.

pure methanol/total volume=% methanol
(19+48)/(86+48)=0.5

 

Just avoid going into boost while you are doing the drive.

I believe the meth with that kid starts spraying when you hit a certain psi.
