I have stated time and time again in threads like this that 7k on stock springs is not a good idea. Especially if you NLS at 6800 or so because the rpms actually go over 7k, I have seen 7100 with a 7k redline which allows something like this to happen.

Only different rocker arms I've seen are in 02-04' ecotec J-Bodies as they have the older "stamped steel" ones, 05' ecotec J-Bodies use the same rocker arms as the Cobalts.

The rocker arms are not the issue here by any means.
no... they aren't the same. i'm looking at two complete different sets right now. one that came out of my car, and the ones currently in it.

Valve cover is not half apart.......... Doing lash adjusters takes no time wuteever.. Easy easy.. Even if u have part of it still stuck in the head. Block had that issue and i got my needle nose pliers bent the tips at and went into the lash adjusters and pried on it and it came out............ The needle nose were.this btw.......

What is a "SAFE" RPM to hit then on the stock valve train?

What is involved in fitting the Supertech springs in our heads?

I've been set at 7k rpms rev limiter since back when I had my stock K04 tune at 1,500 miles on my car, I now have 15,000, bigger turbo more power etc and still set to 7k rev limiter.

I don't use NLS, tried it once just to see what it was when I first got the car.

NLS is the devil.

A bigger turbo can mean less overall stress when spiking .. A smaller turbo builds boost and spikes faster ..

I never NLS , Like I said if you don't all check your Fuel pump wiring harness issue like I described and left a link to the post . You aren't getting it .. The entire thing could have been a result of a grounded out sensor ...

To save yourself the hassel just put in the ZZP springs. The supertechs do not fit unless you dremmel out some of the head. I had to do it, should have just went with the ZZP's but didnt want the hassel of returning them.

Please post a picture of the difference, like I said GM lists them as all the same PN.

So either GM is wrong or there is something else going on here.....and I'm leaning against GM being wrong.

Does the other set you have look like this???

I shift at 6000-6200rpm and i'm happy with that and nick kept telling me i'm shifting to early but i don't like to pound on my car. Once i get valve springs and other supporting mods i might take it up to 6800-7000rpm lol..

Yea I just noticed that the zzp springs are not on the website right now. You only need to replace the rockers and lash adjusters that came loose.

yeah. well maybe its not much of an upgrade. cause everyone i see now a days breaking lash adjusters, are on the new rockers. not the old style ones. and i've had the old style ones up to 7500 rpms on multiple passes everyweekend in my old cobalt with out failure. stock valvetrain. now with this setup i'm taking the car up to 8,192 and while i was up in michigan driving around with ryan, on the dyno, etc it never had any problems. then one day while i was just driving around regularly it started to fall apart.

You think the weight difference of them could have something to do with it. The new ones look like they would be heavier.
